This system that was supposed to be designed to help children has literally gotten away with allowing children to be tortured, abused, neglected, exploited, and sadly killed/murdered. CPS workers take away children from parents when the children are Not in danger or being abused and leaves the children that are being abused, tortured, neglected, and killed , in the homes of the abusers without a second glance. Maybe some of the people actually try to do the best thing for kids, but are no doubt hampered by their "supervisors" and the overall framework of policies which seems to prevent much improvement. Also, we cannot ignore the fact that there just aren't that many couples who are truly fit to take on foster children, and willing to do so. This is a BIG problem, since so many children are grievously failed by their parents, nowadays.

Crystal Lake, Illinois. About 5 years ago a little boy named AJ was killed by his parents. DCFS had been there several times and did nothing. Those DCFS Agents did go to jail. Poor boy was beaten, put into a cold tub and the put to bed to die. Mom was a drug addict, the father was an older lawyer taking advantage of this druggie.

@@bethewalt7385This will not help the problem of protecting children from being abused and neglected. Most social workers enter the field because they want to help people. They are given a completely unrealistic work load, which leads to not having time to do as thorough a job as they wish they could. Added to that, it is usually only the relatively new graduates who are willing to take these challenging and emotionally draining jobs. Social workers with more years of experience can easily get a job in private practice making more money with less stress. A better solution would be to increase the budget to hire more CPS workers, thus reducing the work load for each individual employee. Another idea would be to offer government health benefits to part-time workers; this would attract more seasoned clinicians who may be self-employed in a private practice and currently having to pay for their own health insurance. Opening the door to legal prosecution of social workers who are so overwhelmed that some cases fall through the cracks will only ensure that absolutely no one will want that job.

You can only imagine how much money each child gets and then the people that have them get paid too. I helped my partners mother who's a foster parent with 8 kids during the pandemic in NY. Each child gets $1500 a month and foster mom gets paid too. Heck, she may had been getting more for two more that she adopted that have disabilities. She is a great Foster mom, she really helps the kids and loves them all. These people in this video need to go to prison!

There was at least one more child who was kept inside the house but locked inside of a loft/attic area of the house. They were only released them from their cells to work, weren't allowed in the house to eat or sleep, no shoes, no bedding or blankets, no furniture, etc. They were looking for work slaves.

I always wonder if the family they were taken from was as bad as the court appointed “families” so many people fighting to have thier kids back and terrified that thier cps kidnapped child is in a situation like this. They have way to much power to take kids, and they don’t seem to do it when the parents are total meth heads etc unless there’s insane abuse, yet if your kid bumps thier head and you take them to the doctor to make sure they are ok, they will call cps to try to take your kid. Advice from a former foster kid and foster parent. Do not talk to cps, hand them a lawyers card and force them to get a court order to come on your property, film every encounter don’t say a word without it. If they do have a warrant video them every step of the way so they can’t lie about what they did/didn’t find. (Many of these people are bullies on a power trip and will lie if they don’t like you) and ask them for identification, film/video that also if target won’t identify as they are legally bound to when working in thier official capacity then have that individual trespassed from your property, there’s one government goon that can’t bother you anymore! These types of foster homes are way too common, the state doesn’t protect kids.

@ Unfortunately there aren’t enough volunteers. Even the best child advocates still have to pay their bills and work a paying job. The only way to lighten paid social workers case loads is by hiring more. That costs money. I’m not sure why that is so offensive to you. Social workers have been screaming from the mountain tops that high case loads and a lack of funds are hurting our children. I believe them.

@ I care enough to look for solutions. It doesn’t matter how qualified and compassionate and caring a case worker is if they do not have enough time to visit every child regularly and follow up then more children will skip through the cracks. If the issue is the quality of the social workers then paying more will attract better people. You can’t expect the best at a discount!WV has an issue with border areas keeping teachers because they can drive to Ohio or Md and make more money. Idk why our society plays with our children like this! We expect the people who care for them to do it on poverty wages because they are just that type of person. Being broke comes with the territory! We praise them for choosing their careers not for the money but to make a difference. Our children deserve so much better!!

If only CPS employees would face charges for failure to duly act, a lot of children would receive the help they need sooner. The CPS employees should be charged with what the parents/guardians are charged with. These cases should NOT take more than 60 days let alone 6 months to determine if these children are being abused/neglected. I'm sure there a tons of children who are in severe danger because these CPS workers are lazy or dumb.

Nobody would take a CPS job for fear of being arrested for dilligently doing their job in good faith but then later turns out to be wrong about something. A job like that is almost impossible to get right 100% of the time.

CPS workers have to abide by laws that sometimes cause them to delay until certain requirements have be met. The regulations are stringent. No I am not a worker but I have been minimally involved with several cases and I understand some of the laws.

They couldn’t get in contact with the parents and if they was a poor family living in a low class neighborhood, they would do whatever they need to take the kid but since they got money and live in a nice houseCPS let them get away with whatever they want until it’s almost too late
