When an animal's eyes move to the sides of their head, their range of sight increases behind them, but as a result, it decreases right in front of them. So yup! Soos' plan would work irl. I used to have a bunny, and whenever i pet her nose, she never realized my finger was there. But move it slightly to the side and she'd react to it. It's similar with humans, too (why glasses have separate lenses and not one big oval/square lense)! If you hold your index finger straight up between your eyes and press it right on the bridge of your nose, you can't see most of it (and if you focus long enough, you brain will just omit the parts you can see, but that's a different weird thing your body does)! But if you move it a couple millimeters away, you can see it again because it'll be a distance you can actually focus on. Like, if you imagine your eyes are just giant cones coming out of your face and coming to a point in the distance, then human eyes can move toward the center of their faces more than animals with eyes on the sides of their heads.

Here we gooo! The show actually starts next week. A while back after y’all asked for cipher back I posted explanations of the cipher types, hints for solving, a list of the ciphers so far, list of where to look for backmasked messages, and solutions after a cut. Kinda bummed y’all haven’t addressed any of the ciphers or backmasked messages, as they add some fun and suspense to the show. There will be even more ciphers in upcoming episodes… I feel like y’all are missing out a bit by not investigating or even looking up any of them.

Personally didn't get into the ciphers until the journal arc and I still enjoyed the show a ton! The beginning is pretty light on pointing out clues to the audience, especially going into it blind. I feel like Alex did a great job making the show feel for the viewers how it feels for the characters: a weird and interesting thing that becomes an intriguing mystery that draws you in. TLDR it might be more fun to get into it organically, and the show definitely stands on its own without.

Hell yeah, Pajama Sam! Core memory unlocked. I actually found some on the PlayStation store a while ago too. Might have to re-check em out for nostalgia’s sake.

Idk if you've started season 2 yet or not, but if you haven't, there are Gravity Falls shorts that cameout during the hiatus before season 2. Maybe you guys could react to the shorts before starting season 2. But no need to tho, not watching the shorts isn't gonna affect your viewing experience, this is just a suggestion😊

I know I'm late, but since I recently watched/commented on other 1x18 reactions, I figured I'd re-watch/-comment on this reaction too: -This is 1 of my favorite GF eps. While I much prefer modern-style dinos & the like in media (E.g. AppleTV's "Prehistoric Planet", which I recommend reacting to: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJyXi5-MetmdqcU ), GF's retro-style ones work well in this sci-fi/fantasy context. -Just to clarify, pterodactyls/pterosaurs ARE closely related to dinos, but are NOT dinos themselves (I.e. They lack the special features that all dinos, including birds, inherited from the 1st dino). Both evolved from a common archosaur ancestor. Furthermore (in reference to Stan saying, "They're just big lizards"), none of the above are lizards. Both archosaurs & lepidosaurs (which includes true lizards) evolved from a common reptile ancestor. -9:01: Unfortunately, referring to non-dinos as dinos is a common mistake in popular media, including the Jurassic World series. Speaking of, I highly recommend reacting to Camp Cretaceous/Chaos Theory, another animated show w/lots of action, mystery, & representation.
