Great video. I installed front calipers on the rear. My emergency brake cable was seized anyway. I always park the car on flat surfaces anyway.

I'd ideally like to keep the ebrake but it might come to that lol

The wondering is likely from the alignment. I had issues like that when my Fiero was out of alignment.

The rear torque steer is the camber is not correct, should be -1 degree +- .5. When i got my fiero the alignment was so far off you could see it with naked eye. Rear wanted to push to the right under throttle

Good information. I eyeballed the camber so definitely could be contributing

@@JuryRigGarage front chamber will make the front wonder. DId you replace the steering damper?

After viewing brake deflection testing under load, new rotors have a break in sequence for proper pad seating and hardening the braking surface to prevent warping the rotor.

That looks like my old fiero I use to own

I have the exact same suspension overhaul (Fiero store KYB suspension kit) you have on my 87/3800 swap. Until I had it fully aligned it felt like a death trap also. Trust me, when it's all tuned in you'll be very happy. Also, the ebrake was a pain but have it all working now. But I have an automatic trans so no biggie.

I have an v6 in my firebird with about 120+ miles and I’m trying to sell it to ls swap it and nothing wrong with engine it’s seems you guys like 3800 and can have new project if interested in buying mine let me know 😃

measuring on the front and rear of that tow bar does ensure that the wheels are parallel, but not that they are square or perpendicular with the car. I'm sure there are other ways, but you should also cross measure off fixed points in the suspension (inner tie rod links, subframe bolts, etc.) fixed points on the chassis might be even better in case the subframe is slightly out.

Love the content - the wandering could be 'tires' but likely from alignment or both ;) . Either way keep the video's cranking she's turning into a nice driving machine!

i came here from your big brake kit on the g35. Would the brake kit you guys have on that g35 clear 19x9.5 +22mm wheels? I really need new brake kit but I don’t want to spend the money and have to get new wheels bc the brake don’t fit.

Suspension on a Fiero does not make it to a death trap. Don't misinform, so new owners get the wrong idea on the car. Other than that, great series of videos. By the way, the Fiero, received a 5 star safety rating. Please educate your self.
@JuryRigGarage11 ай бұрын
Comparing to modern cars it's nowhere close. I have no doubt it'll be better once it gets a professional alignment. I wouldn't be doing this and building a drag car if I actually thought it was deadly lol..
@driven_nation11 ай бұрын
Its a "death trap" my guy. And thats okay. Part of the charm. Also, the NHTSA didn't introduce the 5 star rating system until 1993. So while I'm sure they did fine in the tests in the 80s, it probably wasn't a 5 star safety rating. Please educate your self.

Sorry to be a bummer, but your original brake discs won't stop that thing after the first lap at a trackday! 😮 There's a load of brake upgrades possible for a Fiero, depending on you fabrication skill level. You should at least go with vented discs, otherwise disc overheat and brake fade...😟
@JuryRigGarage9 ай бұрын
I've read a lot of mixed things about messing with the brakes on these things. What are your recommendations? The most economical ones I've seen are the lebaron and the c4 corvette's
@turboslugfiero9 ай бұрын
@@JuryRigGarage You seem to have larger diameter wheels, so Corvette C4 discs and calipers would seem a cost effective choice while getting much better performance. I have to keep my original 15" wheels for the French regulations, and for keeping the original look. I went with Grand Am vented discs all round. Grand Am calipers up front and Seville calipers on the rear. Same brake bias, pretty much, and working hand brake. (Again, regulations!) As well, no noticable modification to the hubs. (Again, again, French regulations!)

Your basically driving a Chevy Chevette and expecting a Ferrari performance. These cars drive best with momentum.

love your video but, your videos have a big problem. 1 To long the algorithm won't pick them, 10 to 12 mins. 2 show the car from different angles, 23 second of show time of your car, too little. Good engagement, good mic, good camera. in not a youtuber but I do publicity for the Astros in Hoston, so I know a bit of engagement and marketing. love your video, hope your channel grow.
