Today I got to FINALLY wash my hair, my babies, my sisterlocks! This was my first wash day with my sisterlocks and I definitely learned a few things. In this video I showed you what’s included in the sisterlocks starter kit, how I wash my sisterlocks for the first time and how to “braid and band” your short sisterlocks on wash days!

This was helpful, mine are even shorter, but I am happy to know I can just band it and secure the ends. I have some slippage as well, much more than 3. But I am excited to be getting my first retie soon. Your hair looks so healthy and beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

I think I'm 3-4 months in my microloc journey now, thank goodness, cause I went through exactly what you spoke of in regards to your hair being itchy, dry, and even seeing some flakes. I was able to wash my hair and it didnt make a dent in the itchiness or dryness, only helped some with the flakes which returned after a day. I think it's such a common thing for smaller loc and sisterlock folks to experience because before our locs swell, our scalp is exposed and open to the air. It reacts by needing more moisture (the dryness that usually causes flakes) because the locs are too small to protect the scalp from the dryness in the air. And lmao to the sound you made when you dropped some shampoo by accident, I react the same way when I accidentally drop something 😂😂😂.

I believe you are in the dallas area. I just had microlocs installed and my retightening is due. I have short fine hair around my perimeter and I am battling slippage and unraveling. But do to the shelter in place order I have no one to help. Does your consultant work with microlocs also ? If so is she accepting new clients ?

Thank you for your video. My consultant did not give me a starter kit. She told me to buy some clarifying shampoo. But I didn't want that. I wanted what was in the starter kit. So I ordered my starter shampoo, and purchase my rubber bands. I still didn't know what to do so I clicked on your video and it has helped a lot. I can't even get my birth certificate because I didn't get a kit.
