Nice video! Main reason I ordered the AT was I have a detached garage and sometimes I grill by the house and sometimes out at the garage. Any smoker with the small casters are junk to move anywhere!

Edit…my Silverbac is garbage. I’ve had it 3 weeks and still won’t stay lit. They’ve sent me a new control board and a new rtd, still won’t stay lit. Asking for a full refund. Worst grill ever. Don’t buy one!

I bought a silverback with the comp cart. I store it in my garage and it makes it easy to move around. It will be nice in the summer where I can pull it in the grass if I want. Only used once so far, just got it 2 days ago

Do those wheels have some sort of stoppers to prevent from rolling on incline

Can I ask what made you pick a traeger ironwood over the silverbac?

Nice review on the pro cart ! It really does helps moving the grill around .

When I order my next Silverbac I’m going to get the pro cart for it. I figure I’ll get a piece of butcher block and turn the standard cabinet in to a table.

My brother has a Yoder ys 640. The difference between that and the Grilla is that the Yoder is sturdy as all hell without the comp cart.

I agree Bill. Those are tanks. Wish I had one.

I really like my OSB with the CompCart. moves nicely and very stable for moving around on many surfaces. Keep up the great vids Sandy!

Nice video. Just for information, the Rec Tec competition cart can be purchased for 299.00 when bought with their RT 700 grill. It’s 399 if purchased separately. No matter which grill you have, a comp cart is a nice addition.

I like the review, Sandy. I keep my grill in a building with a smooth floor that extends outward by 4 feet beyond a garage door. I enjoy the enclosed cabinet, but have noticed that I need to be careful when the hopper is full. At some point, I might spring for the comp cart. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I felt the same way about the cabinet for a long time. I did find myself rarely using the cabinet itself however. I keep my pellets in plastic containers on my back porch.

Good information Sandy. Do I see the next Jus piddlin diy project in the making where you slap a top on that old silverback base to make a matching rolling cook table? Thanks for the update and the research you did on the other grill options. Have a great week!

I'd pay extra for a pro cart model. Would save me from having to throw out the cabinet. Been looking at buying a silverback just can't afford the extra $$$ for a cart. P.S. thank you for your service!!!

How is your SB holding up? Are the comp cart wheels fixed or are the able to turn side to side for easier steering? Currently, I’m comparing the Grilla to the Rec Tec. Thank you 👍

Nice video Sandy!! you’re gonna love your new competition cart!! I have a couple issues with my cart. When steering bolts on the bottom of the shelf scratches the top of the steering axle. And the rear axle the one that does not turn the wheels are slightly pigeon toed out like the brackets are to light of metal and bent slightly. I load mine up on a small utility trailer with a 2000 pound axle. I’ve hauled my grill two other locations four or five times now. I don’t think the L-shaped brackets that hold the axle bolts are heavy enough. And use caution when coming down the ramp of a trailer with a full hopper even with the competition cart the grill will up end. Definitely used to people when unloading off of a trailer down a ramp. Still very tippy towards the pellet hopper. I like the Cart I think it’s best used just to roller Grill to the neighbors house or around on your deck. Not rugged enough to haul around the country. Could’ve been a little beefier were the wheels fastened to the Cart.

That fire was putting me sleep! Love a good wood burning stove. Is that double wall pipe?
@progers50196 жыл бұрын
Is it worth it, well sometimes that answer is yes. Especially when it concerns safety which could include fire prevention, tipping over onto a child, and collateral damages and back strain attempting to catch it. Then there is ease of use and moving it around. I spent extra money on a wheel kit with locking device to tie the wsm bottom section to the middle section for same reasons.Nice info Sandy.

Phil N Florence if we’re really worried about safety, you have to wonder why there is an option to buy it without the comp cart.
@progers50196 жыл бұрын
@@billdobberpuhl9507 Bill I know Grilla makes a safe cooker as is. Sandy as well as myself was referring to special conditions. He explained that at the beginning of the vid. Most cookers with casters roll just fine on concrete. Its when you try to roll them over pavers with open or un even joints or in his case decking boards where the wheels get hung up between gaps in the boards or uneven surfaces. If you haven't experienced that you wouldn't realize it could be problematic. He helped solve his personal situation which may not apply to everybody.

Phil N Florence I really love the Grilla SB, but this isn’t the first time I’ve read about it being top heavy and having too small of a stance. It’s just my humble opinion, but I think $300 is a bit stiff when you add that to $750. I’ve not heard anything about the Rec Tecs being tippy without the pro cart. These are the types of details that can really influence a persons opinion.
@JusPiddlinBBQ6 жыл бұрын
I appreciate you watching Phil. Yea, everybody has individual needs/wants/concerns because everybody operates differently in their own backyard. Great points Phil. I'm gonna have to get up there and see you sometime. Only 3 hours.
@JusPiddlinBBQ6 жыл бұрын
@Bill Dobberpuhl Not really Bill. At $1050 with the cart, you still get an outstanding pellet grill for the money. In my opinion, the SB is a $999 grill all day long. Granted, the yoders are tanks, but the ys640 on the standard cart is 1500.00, and with the comp cart, it's 1000.00 more than the SB w/ cart. The Traeger Pro Select is on a cart of the exact same cabinet type as the SB cabinet @ $1300.00. and as far as Rec Tecs go, the RT-590 Stampede is hanging another extra 10lbs of pellets (30lbs total) off of the side in the hopper @ reg. $1399.00. At that price, they should throw in a free bullseye.
