As a 35 year old man, I live on the outskirts and don't talk to many people. Every time you post a video, I step outside and light a cigar and it's almost like I'm having a cigar with a friend. I empathize. Log fires are cozy …but. It’s the but that gets ya. We spent twelve and a half years in a house we had to heat with wood because we couldn’t afford the electric heat. Heat is something we take for granted when we have easy access - until we don’t. Then having it return is a massive cause for Gratitude! Hope things improve for you soon!

What genuinely heartwarming comments. Thanks. We actually lost this house to a chimney fire in the early 80s (250yr old thatched cottage razed to the ground) but we would not be moved! I was about 4. Imoved around a lot as a boy, so had to keep making new friends and that is the best way in my experience to get someone instantly on your side. Thanks for the stories and whatnot. You are right. Thats what Ive been trying to foster on facebook etc. Unity. Our enemies have been at it hard trying to divide us for nearly ten years. That ends now. Concentrate on what we have in common, not what divides us.

Such a needed message right now. We all need to stop demonizing each other (unless there is an EXTREMELY good reason to) and just accept that because of our backgrounds and life experiences we see life differently. Yes exactly: the extremes are unhealthy but the rest of us are just trying to get through life as well and happily as possible. Let’s strive to understand and show a little kindness to one another 🙂
@LaughingMan44
@LaughingMan44 2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, what is considered "normal" now *is* extreme, and the people speaking out against it are demonized as being "extremist". People just wanting to be happy, just trying to get through life is how we got into this mess. Apathy is why we are heading towards a living hell, if we aren't there already.

I was a deacon at our church. I talked to the divorced "pastor" about backing some political issues out of the church. About the same time, my now ex-wife developed a problem. The "pastor" and some of his followers pushed her to divorce. Nice huh? He said I was a bad guy because I disagreed with him and pushed a bad agenda.

@@Bluegill_HillIt's people choosing to turn a blind eye, to ignore reality, choosing to do nothing, to let the mental patients be in charge of the asylum. If enough people had just said "no" to what's been happening in the West these last decades, it would have ended then and there. Too many people had the attitude of "live and let live" and "what people do in the privacy of their own home is their business" etc. We've become completely deracinated, there's no such thing as community in most places anymore.
@Bluegill_Hill
@Bluegill_Hill 2 жыл бұрын
@Laughing Man , yes I do understand and agree. I should have added that "apathy" is, and will be more so, used as a virtue signal for many that engage in misguided action. Coercion will shortly follow, with accusations of one being apathetic. But the roots of that tree might very well be corrupt, as many are. That's why I say apathy isn't the problem, corruption is. But yes, simultaneously your general observations appear to be valid, imo.

It’s interesting I can hear in your story the empathy and patience you extend to young horses. We often ask them to stand calm and still as a scary demon (horse training flag) scares them into flight tendencies. Im amazed at the forces that seem to still be at work to divide us all, even though we’re in essence extremely connected and accessible. I just watched this video you uploaded in Tennessee less than an hour ago, and before I wrote this comment, I was on a zoom meeting with a friend I’ve never met in person in Nigeria, Africa.

@@bobsosa5042 Sure, so where I came from, the church I came out of after some many years, is sort of like leaving the Amish, if you’re familiar with them. They teach and believe that they are the only ones who are right. So after so many years of that, and seeing through scripture that it was wrong, finding a church home can be difficult. You have all of these former teachings for years and now you’re removing them from your life, but it’s hard finding the path you feel you need to travel. I follow the Bible, but finding a church that lines up with what I feel the Bible teaches, the most correct church if you will. Hope that makes a little sense. No church has everything right. They’re made up of humans. I believe mostly all churches have good in them to some degree, but we all have to find what we feel is closest to the Bible

Otherwise you're gonna keep seeing these demons from the other side, and there's no need." 14:39 "You cannot frame the way they think and the way they approach things and the way they view things within your context, otherwise you guys are never gonna understand each other and you're never gonna get along, if you're something totally opposite." ^ This is the easiest way I've seen someone describe the concept of ethnocentrism without actually using the word.

I got into the ARMY to pay for college. This was during the first Gulf War. I was shipped to Giessen, Germany. A lot of the GI’s didn’t hang out with the German people outside the base. Not me. I went out to the clubs and made a lot of German friends. Those people became like my family. It was probably some of the best times in my life, because I learned a new language, a new culture and a different way of thinking. I still have that BRUTAL German honesty. After going to ASU (Thank you ARMY), I taught English in Japan. Again, some of the best times in my life. I also learned a new language, a new culture and a different way of thinking. I still take my shoes off in the house. Learning a new language, a new culture and a different way of thinking was and is when I am happiest. Just my 2 cents.

Everything I see is through mine own eyes and perspective influences the way I interpret things. Culture, education, religion, politics and even the environment we grow up in, molds this perspective. It takes wisdom which comes with time and (for me personally) traumatizing/shocking situations, to rattle that perspective and change the way we see the world. When this happens, we realize there are multiple ways of interpreting situations and suddenly we're not so quick to judge anymore. Thank you for yet another great lesson and effort to humbly bring people together.

Once we do gain a perspective of other people and cultures sometimes we still clash, we have been told to leave the city by a wide variety of people all walks and we have persisted a long time.. Thankful to have recently acquired a cabin in a national forest a few hours away which has been a life saver in so many ways, again surrounded by different culture and STILL those who do not want us, some that do, always some people who want what you have..

HUMIDOR??? I really like humidors and wooden cigar boxes. Some are so beautiful, some vintage, some burl. They are good for so many things....other than cigars!! I would love to see your cigar storage choices and unique wooden shipping boxes... I did see (in one video), a lovely cabinet with glass lidded jars. Very attractive arrangement. Maybe do a video and get a great humidor (or two), from your sponsor...also including a profound message, of course!

Dewayne, I have been all over the world, served two tours in Vietnam. I have worked for major corporations as a Vice President. I have worked with men and women from every walk of life. I’ve dug ditches, fed cattle, flew airplanes, and own my own business. I now live on the shore of Flathead Lake in Montana, so that Flathead 660 cigar may do the trick. I believe in letting every man have his own beliefs and customs as long as he doesn’t try to impose them on me. Live and let live. Keep up the good work.

This channel is what will allow you to purchase your bit of acreage. As it should. You have a great way about yourself, a good head on your shoulders and a certain charisma that can't be quantified. Your ways and wisdom are needed in these times.

Right on the money, Sir. Humbly from a female city-fied almost senior married lady in BC, Canada. The only thing I am extreme about is keeping my heart focussed on forgiveness and grace! That is a full time job, and I keep the Boss upstairs very busy lol. I need a lot of help!

Nice video! I am grateful that, growing up in the suburbs of Washington DC, we still returned once or twice a year to my Dad's midwestern farm town in Illinois and to my Mom's lower middle class industrial small town near Pittsburgh, PA. This gave me exposure to three different types of contexts during my growing up years, making it much easier to understand different contexts.
