Con confirm, im only archon but i stomp every game with Venomancer with this Facet. The amount of vision and blink cancels i can do is wild, won 17 games out of my last 20 with him since i switched to this facet

It's a near permanent God's Strength when combined with Feral Impulse and the right talents. Add that to 40% crit chance and a FUCK ton of HP? Why would you go with 2 shitty summons that die to any AoE when you can just chunk people for 700 a hit? Lycan is all-stats.... You can get 700 attack damage with defensive items thanks to spirit wolves LOL

honestly, i played veno everyday, tried both facet, but both need you to be tanky, coz if not, you would be the first one they hunted, theres 2 ways for me to play the ward facets, spam it around you so they would give vision and hit those with blink, or put it on urself or ur initiator (some of em would be angry about this), and the other facet, buy refresher and blink, use ult on 1 hero, wait awhile after the ult bounces, refresh and put on another hero again.

I got tilted by my pos 4 ogre being toxic after the bounty runes spawned and went jungle as Axe level 1. I got blink, 2 bracers and phase boots by min 13 as a jungler.

Venomancer is very good as a jungler in 2025 and he is played like this at 14k mmr in Europe, basically higher than you can ever imagine. NA is dogpoop compared to EU and everyone knows this. All you need for this to work is Bristleback that knows how to play on offlane. Even if he gets demolished, he gets levels, and sometimes he can win 1v2 because the hero is not fair. I got mana boots on veno jungle at like minute 2 and then I go straight for Skadi. I come out at around minute 10 with a Skadi. After lvl 6 I join fights and when ult is on cd I just perma farm. Always start radiant near the well for extra mana regen and you are good to go. No tangos needed if you kite properly. It's very strong and viable.

Actually I found that I been countered by Dagon for the Lycan wolves when 2 supports started building it and everyone else buy one think it's trash to play with Alpha Wolves Facet after that cuz I cant play well in mid game without having the wolves or using them efficiently.

I think it depends on your bracket. In my shitty bracket jungling can work but I feel like in higher bracket they will punish the solo lane way harder and not just let the jungler free farm.

I've done it a few times (in unranked) and I'll come out of the jungle at min 7 with level 6 and arcane boots, urn and a mek and it doesn't matter how bad the offlaner was doing the lane is now won.

the point of this version is the exp power spike that gives wolf root. lycan takes farm to reach exp spike asap. carry lycan can use main hero to farm further items while wolf shred.

i like arc warden more for this tbh. ult, midas a big creep and send ur clone to a upcoming teamfight and spam ur spells. at lvl 7 you can kill most heroes with that and the clone scales into lategame.

In Archon/early Legend, so many double squishy supps and mid sniper, easy Lycan games. And I am taking the no micro 2nd facet. You do bonkers damage, once you have harpoon nulli and bkb you can clean 2-3 heroes. Let the team deal with the offlaner and carry.

I’m 6k FYI but not crit MMR because I have a job outside of Dota. I was mostly talking about nyx who effectively pulled the wave once and then proceeded to walk around the map and feed from minute 5-10. Tell me any MMR where this is good form.

As BSJ mentioned, Venos job is to trade resources and kills. With that in mind you have to look at DPS and it's counters. The best way to reliably counter dam of any kind is health, whether through regeneration or stat items. Obviously positioning and spell casting are huge but as your opportunities are vs risk, health pool counters your main hinderence. As veno is a universal hero now, he gains so much health if you itemise accordingly. TRY starting items: blood grenade, fluffy hat, branch x2, tangos, faerie fire and obs. Get poison touch then you extra dam, are tanky, can fly mana regen to you. This creates huge bait potential from players chasing a heavy harass tanky hero. I usually rush wand and bracer by which point you have over 1k hp (with raindrops if needed). This catches loads of ppl off guard and if you have an aggro carry hero is guranteed kills level 2/3 up. The great thing about that is that ppl want revenge and because of that you will attract aggro away from your pos 1, make people focus u all game out of anger (which you especially want as a pseudotank veno). Lategame get aeon disk and refresher late(which is why the patient 0 facet is better) the impact from double contagious ult is amazing in teamfights or extremely useful by allowing you 2 very strong pick off initiations in the same move. As pos 5 you get a force staff or glimmer after boots. I mostly get arcane boots unless your carry goes jungle and you want to rush a farm/utility item like gliepnier which i amplify with power treads which only marginally delays your force. The 10 str from treads on top of the other early tank items can also be useful. GL HF winning consistency with pos 5 (I've won 20 from last 25 at 3k MMR from this).
