What is a prayer wheel?
@MichaelLiningMusic3 жыл бұрын
It's an metaphor to praying without ceasing, a reference to I Thes. 5:16-18. Its saying that by continually praying to Jesus (circle/wheel analogy) that we can be filled with the Holy Spirit (fire burning) and we'll grow in the Lord and be made whole in Christ. It has to do with sanctification after salvation. The Bible says to confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, which is the picture of the talk with Jesus leading to salvation, and the prayer wheel is the picture of sanctification. This song is not referring to prayer wheel devices used by Buddhists or rosaries by Catholics.

Thank you for such a blessed video. Music ministers praise God. Jesus sang praise! Matthew chapter 26: verse 30; Psalm 118. We also give God glory by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? Romans chapter 10: verse 14 Romans 10: 17 Then faith comes from hearing and hearing by the word of God. Isaiah chapter 7: verse 14; Therefore, the Lord himself will give you a sign; Behold, a virgin will conceive and bear a son, and will call his name Immanuel. (Hebrew is meant: God מָּנוּאֵל, "God is with us," like human flesh, but without sin) John 3: 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him could be saved. “All have sinned and lack the glory of God”; Romans chapter 3: verse 23 "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans chapter 6: verse 23 Read Isaiah, chapter 53: verses 1-18, and know that the Son of God; Jesus Christ, through his terrible suffering and death, saved us from death itself, which is a conscious separation from God and the family of God in hell and the lake of fire forever. John 14: 6 “Jesus said to him: I am the way and the truth and the life; no one can come to my Father unless it is through me “Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and he was buried, and on the third day he was resurrected according to the Scriptures” 1 Cor. 15: 3-4 "In which we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the richness of his grace"; Ephesians. 1: 7 "Because it is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the remission of sins." Matthew chapter 26: verse 28 Ephesians 2: 8-9 "For it was by grace that you were saved by faith, and it is not from you, it is a gift from God, and it is not a work that no one can boast." Romans 10: 9 If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, then you will be saved. 10 For with all his heart man believes unto righteousness; and by mouth a confession is made for salvation. 13 For whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. What does it mean? (see John, chapter 3: verses 16). This means that a body of flesh and bones ceases to exist, but the soul and spirit of a lost person (who rejects Jesus Christ), which was created to last forever, continues to remain in eternity in some form of body, in a conscious state called " second death, "in a place different from God and the family of God, that is called the" Lake of Fire ". "Therefore, since we were justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 5: 1

where did the words ( prayer-wheel turning ) come from ?? the song book has prayerful yearning. the Buddhist religion prayer-wheels that they turn . Are you trying to mix the to??
@dsvet6 жыл бұрын
Garrett, good observation. Actually this whole song is from a Calvinist perspective. That just saying a prayer saves. "I once was lost in sin but Jesus took me in but then a little light from heaven filled my soul, It bathed my heart in love and wrote my name above and just a little talk with Jesus makes me whole." You can not just say a prayer to be saved One must: Hear the gospel Believe the gospel repent of your sins Confess Jesus is Lord and Savior Be baptized for forgiveness of sins. One is not saved until one obeys the gospel putting on Christ in the watery grave of baptism. It is there the dead in sin is left behind and we rise up a new creature born of water and spirit to walk in newness of life.

@Revelation 20:15 Just before Christ's ascension into heaven he gave "The Great Commission" to his disciples. Mark 16 14 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. So who will be saved? He who "believes AND is baptized". On the day of Pentecost, Peter preached the first gospel sermon to the Jews assembled there. Upon hearing it they asked what they should do.... Acts 2 37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. So what is a person's response to hearing the gospel? Repent AND be baptized for remission (forgiveness) of sins. In perfect harmony with Mark 16:16.

I do not believe that "prayer wheels" are scriptural and in fact seem to be unscriptural according to Isaiah. I suggest we follow suit with substituting "pray'rful yearning." - Isaiah 1:14-15 - New American Standard Bible 14 I hate your new moon festivals and your appointed feasts, They have become a burden to Me; I am tired of bearing them. 15 So when you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide My eyes from you; Yes, even though you offer many prayers, I will not be listening. Your hands are covered with blood.
@MichaelLiningMusic3 жыл бұрын
It's not a reference to Buddhist prayer wheels. It's an allusion to prayer without ceasing, a reference to I Thes. 5:16-18. Its saying that by continually praying to Jesus (circle/wheel analogy) that we will be filled with the Holy Spirit (fire burning) and we'll grow in the Lord and be made whole in Christ. It has to do with sanctification after salvation. The Bible says to confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, which is the picture of the talk with Jesus leading to salvation, and the prayer wheel is the picture of sanctification. The verses you reference are a rebuke for idolatry of the tribe of Judah and are not in context of a person praying praying without ceasing to God.
@everettguyton8203 жыл бұрын
@@MichaelLiningMusic Thank you for your quick response. I do not understand how "prayer wheels" can be an allusion to prayer without ceasing and I do not believe that even if this is true, that most people would understand this, especially since "prayer wheels" are used in non-Christian religions. I also cannot find the sanctioned use of "prayer wheels" in scripture! Regardless, God is the one, and only one, that we should strive to please. That being said, I believe that substituting "pray'rful yearning" would be pleasing to God. Again, thank you and may God bless you and yours!
