I have listened to JAM for quite a number of years now and I think I have to say that Paul Merton is the most masterful player that has ever been on. His knack of managing to tell a story in his turns and drawing you into the story rather than listening for R H and Deviation is superb. Long May you continue Paul! Thanks for the uploads!

Nicholas Parsons talking about his hit record „Fantasy“ is one of the highlights of the show for me. When he begins I still expect him to be the Straight Man and it takes me a moment to realise he’s going into Merton-style surrealism. I love it.

Sometimes I give my name as "Spartacus" at Starbucks, hoping that some day, when the barista says "Who's Spartacus?" one person after another will say "I'm Spartacus". Another "I'm Spartacus" etc. (See the great movie with Kirk Douglas if you havent).

There's that legendary story about the late Eric Douglas, during his abortive stand-up career in the early 90s, getting heckled at the Comedy Store in London until he lost his cool and shouted "You can't do this to me! I'm Kirk Douglas's son!" At which point the audience members began standing up one by one and shouting "No, I'M Kirk Douglas's son!"

I love this programme but Wendy Richard is so humourless, always whining

Thankfully she wasn’t on that often

Wendy took the game very seriously, she was one of the few people that did. she had a certain attitude nearly equal to that of Kenneth Williams when it came to blowing up at people. sure she didn't have many jokes or punchlines, but she wasn't a comedian.
