If I remember correctly tarbal was already born because he was sent away because he "couldn't fight" where never really told how old tarbal was. Also it said somewhere most says mate just to have the more Saiyan the only not for love the only exception being gokus parents. So I feel like king vegeta just did it with the strongest female saiyan then had vegeta then with other women since tarbal looks a lot different more like Gohan then anything. Also it's dragon ball and I'm pretty sure no one knows tarbals age since even Gohan looks older then him.
