It works. Her last recipe added a little salt. Use minimum alcohol.... My first batch I used to much. Follow her measurements. I used the bottom of a bottled water container, just cut it in half.

I don’t use fabric softeners at all, they clogged up my machine - pure vinegar does wonders and everything is soft!

Fabric softener is not natural. Bad to breathe in for our health, bad for the environment. It's also a fire hazard. Even clothing, towels, etc. It burns faster. Don't just take my opinion, Google it yourself and decide.

Be careful. Fabric softener can be a fire hazard. Even dried on clothing, towels, etc. Chemicals in the softener can surely cause a fire to burn much faster. God forbid if a fire arises. I wouldn't use it, Google it yourself & decide.

Essential oil in anything will kill a cat. She used downy and no EO in that. Alcohol is a blender and pet saft, you only need a couple TBsp. Water, ok, cloves, ok. If still worried spray high on walls. Pictures hanging usually have a backing, spray some there, back of furniture

I agree, most essential oils are deadly dangerous to pets, dogs & cats, birds, etc. Fabric softener smells good, but some dogs will try to eat it. I wouldn't risk it. Some pets can get access to countertops, etc. Also for bird owners, your self cleaning oven can kill your birds on cleaning mode.
