This is where an Instant Pot is totally earns its keep! A pound of just about any bean, 5C water for 55 minutes on high pressure and you have gorgeous cooked beans, better than canned and SO CHEAP without any soaking. Great for making cheap yogurt too. Thanks for doing cool things with barley--I've never had it before, so this is great inspiration.

Great videos. The funny thing is that the prices he uses are significantly higher than what I typically see in a medium cost of living city. I'm pretty sure I can make his $2 recipe for about $.75 -- which is awesome when I'm feeding 5. Also -- love the sauce drawer!!!

Hi Frankie, I know that this isn't the episode that uses raisin water instead of wine, (can't find it the name of that episode though I watched it this past week) but I wanted to say thank you for that episode. I don't use wine in cooking (I don't drink it, do my best not to touch alcohol- even looking for a vanilla extract substitute) and it's extremely difficult to find any cooking shows of any kind that use substitutes for wine in cooking. The one using raisin water is the first one that I've seen on KZbin, and I wanted to say a deep thank you. Best, Amanda Jensen

The chili literally had no chile in it. It was just bean and squash stew. Don't call it chili if there is literally no chili in it.
@alyssaguess6 жыл бұрын
nfin8one I’m guessing he called it chili bc there was beans in it
@nfin8one6 жыл бұрын
I get where you're coming from, but chili without chili is like making a "chicken sandwich" with hamburger and it's ok because it's meat in a bun. What he made is bean stew. I like bean stew, but it's not chili. In conclusion, a bean is not a chili. A ham is not a tofu. An egg is not a tomato. You can't just call it something because you want to.
