It is very important to check whether your mechanic filled correct quantity of engine oil in your motorcycle (bike) and scooty (scooter) during servicing. An engine oil comes into play to maintain the smooth functioning of the various parts of an engine and to avoid friction between them. This is largely dependent on the thickness or, technically speaking, the viscosity of the motor oil. Different oils have been given gradation according to their viscosity and these gradations have been provided by the ‘Society of Automotive Engineers’ (SAE) who take into consideration various viscosity characteristics
Too much/Overfilling Engine oil in a vehicle can cause some of the vehicle’s vital parts to malfunction and it can cost you a lot to repair these damages. That is why it is so important to detect the first signs of oil overfill early and take the necessary steps to resolve this problem. Overfilling your engine oil can cause serious damage to your engine. Some common symptoms are oil leaks from the engine and blue smoke from the exhaust pipe. If you have only filled it a couple of millimeters above the max sign, there is no need to worry. But if you have filled it a centimeter above the sign, it can cause severe damage to your engine.

Bhai ek question hai.....jb vi dipstick ( main stand halka warm engine) se e.oil napta hun toh max lev pe dikata hai......lekin jab drain karta hun toh 100-200ml kam nikal ra hai.( after 2200km) Bike- hunk 150cc E.oil- castrol power 1 ( semi synthetic) Totak km 17000km Pls reply bhai❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

50-100ml oil remains in the engine as there are some pockets from where oil does not drain. Also, after running 2000km, some oil will be burnt and hence lowers oil level naturally.

I observed same. After service Bajaj service centre put 1 litre but It will be on lover level I have 100ml top up bottle and I will pour 50 ml to 60ml then oil level come between . Bajaj pulsar shows signs of hard gear shift even if 100 ml less engine oil. Even service centre guys tell chaltha hey sir, koyi farak nahiye. They intentionally put less oil so engine goes bad quickly. With warranty they charge labour cost so piston free which costs 3000rs . Labour charge 8000rs. 😂 Wah sirji what an idea. ?

If you put less oil than recommended Even 200ml less it will destroy gear box. Main crank shaft bearings. Even if 700ml there inside engine. So. Always maintain engine oil level for God sake. Never let engine oil level goes below lower mark. Or upper mark.

It is written on the engine oil cap. Just read it. never underfill. Overfilling by upto 10% is okay as oil level will lower over time

Which grade engine oil is best for 200cc to 225cc motorcycle.

That depends on the model. The manufacturer recommend the correct grade in the manual. You can use slightly higher grade also but never use lower grade.

@@shrujanamsyama9940all tvs apache series 160,180,200cc and ronin 225cc. Company recommend 10w30 but if it in summer time or for long ride in any weather conditions which grade is suitable ? Do you think tvs ronin can be serviced outside authorized service center ?

@@dipankarghosh8147 10W30 is good for Indian climate. If you are living in Ladakh or extreme cold place, use 5W30. If you are living in hot areas like desert or feeling engine vibration due to heating, mix 5-10% Abro oil treatment additive as that will thicken the oil & is better than going for higher grade like 10W40. But if you are travelling across different climate, then 10W30 without any additive is the best grade. Change oil at 2500-3000km even if you use synthetic oil as older oil have less adaptability for temperature changes. As for servicing, an expensive bike like Ronin don't have high sales and hence good aftermarket spares are not easily available. Basic things like light bulb, battery, oil, spark plug, air filter changes can be done locally as they take 15-20 mins. But any deep servicing is best done in TVS service centre.

Most modern scooters/bikes get LED headlight. There is no parking light. Older ones have parking light but they also have a place to place the switch
