Grew up in deaf community. I’ve deaf friends who go both ways on it. Most I’d have to say that I know find it offensive to their way of life. They of course didn’t grow up with them so there’s that. It’s all perspective. I personally enjoy Coop and watching him have the option to choose when he wants his ears on and off. 😊

Thank you for saying how you burnout on social media and have to give it a break for a period of time! I feel the same way! I love learning stuff and being inspired, and just finding some joy though posts others but it can oddly be draining as well. Your son is precious and it is absolutely normal to have the feelings you have expressed that every mother has-especially during toddler and teenage years! I know you said you have little time and you have the shorts with the pullover car trips but I would suggest you writing down all the antics he pulls that are particularly memorable on any given day. He will love hearing about them in the future and you will enjoy the memory. Time really does go faster than you realize and you will forget some of the funny things (that might not have been funny at the time.) Keep your head high and don’t let the negativity of those who think they know better than you for whatever reason add to your strain. You are doing it right for you and your family!

I have watched Coop in your other videos. As the oldest of three, I was able to watch my mentally handicapped brother endure against all odds. He was mainstreamed in his 7th grade year, and it was culture shock, and he had no comfort zone. 50 years later, I am soo grateful to have him as a brother. God bless you and your family. Oh my he has a full curling hair! Cute! When I am not wearing CI. I talk or yell during conversations 🤪. My husband said “ shhh, you talking so loud.” But I noticed I don’t have it on. My question is when he turn 5 where do you think he will go school? Deaf school or mainstream. I went to a deaf school I have to go speech ( therapy) it s okay I rather use ASL and speak at the same time. When I’m at deaf school or talk to deaf people - actually I do not use my voice just ASL. Strange huh?! When I’m home I talk but sadly my parents don’t use sign languages. Cooper is very lucky to have a great mom use voice and signing. While I’m wearing Hearing aid but currently wear CI. Oh my, I do not like loud tv, music or yelling. Beth - you did great keep your voice down and tell him please do not yell. But he did not realize he hurt your ears. He will understand till he control to stop yelling. Beth - Keep it up with Cooper !!!! 👍🤟🏻❤️
