I used to have mixed feelings about Kyle. I'm sold now. He's a good kid. I love his draw. Being from Texas we speak the same language. When I was bowling juniors in the 80s, I would come home to watch the PBA tour and I remember Guppy with those sunglasses and those disco pants. 😂 Good times. Here's to the great sport of bowling. 🍻

That first ball EJ threw in the ninth sailed on him because of the urethane carry down. It could literally have not come at a worse time. I feel for him because there is no way to see it. You don’t have any frames left to adjust, just a horrible break, horrible timing for it to happen. Congrats to Troup, he’s becoming a real force on the tour.

I thought they could ask for a re rack as long as they didn’t pick up their ball. In past telecast they said re racks were used for calming down, icing the opponent or a bad rack. How do you know without looking at it?

1st time you're up for a big event like that, whether it's the final match of some little local tournament, PBA TV, or just the 1st time you've started a game with 8 or 9 strikes, there's a bit of pressure. Gets a lot easier once you've won before.

@@odellus You obviously don’t play or watch bowling very frequently. A “perfect shot” will always strike. If you don’t strike, there is always an adjustment to be made. Also, saying that you shouldn’t be able to win by missing is genuinely stupid. Why don’t you use that brain of yours to come up with a nice long list of all of the Olympic sports where luck and/or some form of probability/randomness isn’t a factor at all? Go ahead, I’m curious!

I’ve been saying for years they should shut up during the approach half the time randy or Dave Ryan or this guy are yelling suddenly during and. Just before their release. I’ve been to many shows and most of the pros grit and bear it, but it just takes away from the enjoyment for fans especially when you know it has affected the outcome of the shot.

Game 3 when Troup asked if they could wait to speak till after his approach was done, something to mitigate that would be to put the casters into a booth that's not fully sound proof, but will stop at least lower level talking from getting to the players ears during the match. Just something that might be able to be done so commentary can happen though the whole game and not just between shots.

You'd think a fiberglass partition, like a cheap version of those that drummers use, would suffice. That said, at the risk of generating "OK, Boomer" comments (although I'm actually an X'er), I would prefer they just talk qat a near-whipser in those moments, if at all. Like Schenkel and Burton, or on-course golf announcers. I like the seriousness and solemness of it. Bowling doesn't need to sound like the X games. Perhaps they've done the research and this is what gets better ratings, though.

I assume you’re talking about 1:26:45. It’s almost always better to hook at spares that involve a sleeper pin, including the 2-4-8. The overwhelming majority of professional bowlers hook at those for a reason. Also, they do know where the oil is; they know the exact pattern they’re bowling and they’ve all bowled many games on it before this stepladder final.
