Yes! I love the points you’re making, I’ve seen interviews with casting directors who act like they’re being inclusive by saying “we auditioned disabled and non disabled actors and it just happened that this non disabled actor fit best” but as a legally blind actor the amount of times I’ve seen blind people on screen use their cane wrong or when they’re supposed to have less vision than me and they can do things I could never do, like know exactly where a object is because... idk their senses are heightened? Also I know a big plot point in lots of story’s with blind characters is getting their sight back (which is pretty bad anyway) so they apparently need sighted actors, but they don’t, so many people are blind but still have some vision, but they just don’t want to hire those people, but anyway, Sandra if you see this I just wanted to tell you how inspirational you’ve been to me as a disabled actor, I love musical theatre and knowing that something as beautiful as deaf West spring awakening could be created and include so many people you wouldn’t expect to be in a musical has kept me fighting to carve my own path, so thank you, every performance I’ve watched of yours has been absolutely stunning

Greetings from Germany, I am amazed by your performance in "New Amsterdam"! I am looking at all of your videos on YouToube now. I absloutely agree that deaf roles are to be casted with deaf actors. Authenticity! We do not hire actors with fair skin, give them a dark make-up and let them play Indian rolse, anymore, do we? My guess is that it's a combination of prejudice and laziness on the side of script writers and casting people, that there are few deaf roles and that hearing actors keep being casted for deaf roles. First there should be more deaf roles, second they should be casted with deaf actors!

Russell Harvard was pretty badass in Season 1 of Fargo. It definitely added a lot more depth to his and Adam Goldberg's character's relationship.
