She also traded her only means of defense in the undercity for medicine for Vi, devised a plan to infiltrate Zaun with only a small strike force instead of an entire army, faced and fought Sevika when she didn't have any effective close combat skills, went behind Ambessa's back and betrayed her, tried to help Warwick when she had 0 reason to believe he wouldn't harm her, helped Piltover's most wanted war criminal escape prison and threw everything she had left into a fight against Ambessa after she had just woken up from being knocked out by a rifle butt, had been exposed to the Grey _and_ had a knife stuck in her side. Caitlyn is relentlessly brave, to the point where it's straight up foolish at times. She has more backbone and courage than a lot of characters in Arcane and it's soooo slept on istg.

@@Vexder it's actually just a misconception that she's 16. the only (semi) official source for their ages comes from one of the show creator's tweets that says vi is *around* 14-16, with caitlyn being about the same age, "maybe a year apart". one news article then translated that to mean caitlyn was 16 and everyone accepted that, but tbh i think she's more likely a year YOUNGER than vi, considering she looks visibly much younger in the first act than vi does. she even has a different, younger sounding voice actor, while vi's is the same as adult vi. so caitlyn is probably 14, and vi is probably 15-16.

Same! People were hating on her, saying she was overreacting and stuff, and while she kinda was, her crash out was reasonable. She had so many chances in s1 to shoot Jinx and take her out, but instead of doing that, she not only let her go, but she also advocated for Zaun's independence. The thing Jinx (cause of Silico) wanted. She was being so fucking nice and understanding the entirety of season one, and what did she get in return? Her mom getting blown up.

this is why i cant hate her, she just badly responded to her grief because even tho we dont see her properly have a bond with her mom, thats still her mom who meant a lot to her regardless. and yes maddie being a rebound wasnt a good move of caitlyn to do but she addressed it anyway, she made sure to come clean about that but vi didnt care. i dont agree with her actions but at least she feels regret and accepts when shes gone too far.

@@beepboop2842 Yes, she was not just a rebel without a cause, she had opinions that her mother didn't fully approve but still understood. Complicated relationship with parents doesn't mean we hate them, in Caitlyn's case quite the contrary, she wanted to prove herself to everyone, I bet she wanted her mother's approval but by doing things her own way. And imagine her despair when her mother dies because she decided to take more than she could handle (caitlyn's own words).the thing was, she blamed herself as much as she blamed jinx, the only thing she could do was avenge her, but in the end she gave up on the revenge just because realized that as much as she wanted revenge, she didn't wanna lose Vi. I'd say, a well written complicated character overall.

Caitlyn is 3rd most morally reprehensible person on the show. I'd put her just behind Ambessa, and Singed. She understood how the undercity had been abused and repressed, but when they fight back and she looses just her mother, she goes to war. Apparently any piltover life and especially her mothers life are with 1000's of the cockroaches living beneath her boot! Uses Vi in a deplorable way then dumps her for weak reasons and revenge. How many mothers did she help kill with her pollution and her vendetta with Jinx? How may Father's.? How many children were killed by her actions. The real problem is she apologizes in the most flipint manner to Jinx, and now all shall be forgiven?. Cait has not repented. She is an elitist asshole who should not be put on any pedestal. F Catlyn and her now crappy legacy. One of the best characters to one of the worst.
