No joke, my mom went to SIX different EB Games stores to find Just Dance 2020 for the Wii. And the employees told her that she was lying and there were no more Just Dance games for the Wii. Finally, at the last EB Games, there was ONE copy in a locked box (probably the only one the store ever got) and my mom got me that one. I'm probably the only person in my hometown with it for the Wii

Aether Employee Sabrina it seems like almost no retail stores were informed it released on Wii because I went to target and Walmart, my parents even checked old kmarts and Sears stores that sold games to try to make more money and the only store that even knew it existed was GameStop which mentioned Ubisoft only gave most stores only 5 copies each which made it near impossible to find. The worker just gave up and gave me the switch version and gave me a code to get the Wii version on Amazon at a discount because a family member gave him some useless codes for amazon and because I am a common customer to that store so I would've got a discount for it anyway

I can see that being the case, they're very simple to use, and I've heard a lot of elderly people using them regardless of needing rehabilitation, they simply let them be active-enough. So I imagine that it would be a great choice for rehabilitation centers and senior homes to have them rather than anything else, especially not something like a PS3 or Xbox which uses controllers that they might find too unwieldly.

There are so many fantastic games on that thing, it supports the entire Gamecube library, and is in the top 5 most sold consoles of all time. It requires no software update, no online account guffins. I doesn't surprise me one bit that there are people who still have it and still buy games for it over newer platforms.

Just Dance kept the Online Mode for the Wii up to Just Dance 2017 or 2018 (I forget which one they ended it on, but it was one of those.) Although Just Dance Unlimited was never available, my guess is due to the Internet Limitations and Storage Limitations of the original Wii. But Just Dance 2017 actually sold around 1M copies worldwide for the ORIGINAL WII! (The Wii U version sold somewhere around 150,000-200,000, I think, and the Switch version sold around 300,000-350,000, if I recall correctly.) A lot of Medical Facilities, Physical Therapy Centers, Rehab Centers, and even Prisons actually keep Wiis in them for their patients/inmates, and Just Dance is a very easy game for many of them to pick-up, and good to keep them moving, so this is why Ubisoft kept making the game, and it has done well sales-wise. Although I do think them charging $40 was quite ridiculous! If they had kept the Online Mode, I could see $30 (Although I think the reason they did eventually cut it out was because their "core-audience" for this platform wasn't using it) but since there was literally No Online, not to mention no challenges to unlock, or anything else, this game should've been $20 max. I am curious to know why they finally decided to axe it. While I know Just Dance 2020 did not sell near 1M Units, Ubisoft did say in their Sales Report that it had "met expectations." Maybe Nintendo finally stepped in and decided to cut them off. Who knows...

The Wii didn’t had enough online support and the hardware to support Just Dance Unlimited. Many online servers (like WiiConnect24), excluding the World Dance Floor (until after JD2018), were discontinued overtime after the console’s discontinuation. Plus, the Wii had no subscription services, while the Xbox 360 and PS3 did (with Xbox Live, PlayStation Plus, etc.). And not to mention, the Wii was barely able to support the game series after JD4 when they advanced the graphics, given that the console’s hardware (which had significantly lower RAM than the PS3 and Xbox 360) struggled to support it. There would be times when the games would lag, or even cause the console to crash.

Like it would be pretty cool if a random N64 game was released officially, it doesnt have to be anything special or important, but old consoles getting new games is something I wish happened more often. Just Dance Unlimited isn't on the Wii, and other 7th generation consoles as all of the online servers were shut down on these consoles; the online stores, including the Wii Shop Channel, being discontinued, making it impossible for players to complete transaction to buy the subscriptions; the Wii doesn’t have enough ram to store 500+ songs the service has to offer. Not to mention, the Wii could barely handle the Just Dance games AFTER Just Dance 4 with the graphics being advanced, which sometimes caused the game/console to crash.

The reason why this happened. A lot of daycares, camps, schools, and children programs have Wii's because they are cheap and often donated. Just dance is perfect for these kids and groups. And thus we have just dance Wii but not Wii u

So here's the thing. I almost got Just Dance 2020 on the Wii for the novelty of owning the (supposedly) last Wii game. And then I picked up Just Dance 4 on the Wii for 5 bucks at GameStop. And I didn't like it at all. The Wii Remote Plus wasn't accurately reading my movements at all even if I swore I was doing some moves perfectly. So I opted for the Switch version and had a way better experience using Joy-Cons. I could genuinely see myself playing this game often as an exercise routine if I decide to stick with the Unlimited plan, which I haven't had any issues with so far. And I still stand by what I said in my comment on the Switch review where I said I thought the song list was pretty alright. There are some changes I would make though now that I have it. Some songs I was really excited for like Old Town Road didn't click with me while others I didn't think I'd enjoy like Fancy I ended up really liking. But overall, my opinion on the song list remains the same. Not amazing, not bad. It's just right.

Just dance 1-4 detection for the Wii is difficult. But it's still possible to 5 stars on every song on just dance 4, it's just hard, every just dance onwards is too easy to get 5 stars, so there's no difference between joy con and Wii remote either

The Wii only had 512 MB of storage (which was awful even back in 2006) so that's probably why it never really got DLC and the SD card couldn't be taken advantage of for some reason. That said, with the Wii shop closed now, if anybody has any space left, they might as well fill it with songs. That said, Black Ops still works on the Wii's online so not all games apprently had to connect to Nintendo's servers. That said, Ubisolft probably figured it wouldn't be worth the effort to open servers for this game and I don't see how it could be worth it. Without using fan servers, outside of a few select games like Black Ops (that might be the only one) none of the Wii's online features function anymore apart from the barely usable and horribly outdated internet browser, even Netflix no longer works on it. If you still game on the Wii (which I consider retro gaming now), it's not even worth having it connected to Wi-Fi anymore. I'm guessing young kids are using hand-me-down/used Wii's as well as nursing homes that never saw the need to upgrade to a newer system. Those are probably the only people playing the Wii version of these games.

Games labeled as "Pay & Play" with the orange "Nintendo WiFi Connection" logo had DLC, on the other hand, internet is pretty pointless without homebrew, yet for some reason i can still access the Wii Shop Channel and redownload my stuff, i just had to open the channel for installing Netflix... that wasn't done with Homebrew, its something that can still be done, but just for redownloading.

The last game so far was some Holyday Assistant or something like that released on January this year. Before that it was Shakedown Hawaiion August 2020 released Physically as well. Interesting that the same "drougth" of games happened in 2018, no games since August 2018 and then a new one on January 2019... i'm still specting more Wii U games on the eshop since some where already published on Europe and those get ported to America like 3 months later, also some projects are still going that haven't released at all, let's see how much can those indie devs keep the thing "alive" even though the games don't sell at all... (i really wanted Shakedown Hawaii physical but got out of stock in less than 3 days).

Well first of all, be glad that the Wii doesn’t have the subscriptions that you have to pay for to get all the songs. The other systems offer you the subscription. It was very good that you didn’t have to pay I mean not at all. That’s why you should get just dance games for the Wii. So I would say it would be worth a buy. Or if you don’t like the songs, I would suggest you return it. I don’t think nothing is wrong with it. It just doesn’t have the online features and stuff. But it’s more fun when you play with your family. So I disagree with you 100%. They do have good songs, it’s just that some are boring. So I think it is worth a buy.

Sorry, dude. Not only has Ubisoft confirmed that Just Dance releasing on the Wii ended after JD2020, but Nintendo of America themselves apparently said that the assets required to release physical Wii games are no longer sufficiently available. It might still be a technical possibility for a new Wii game to release elsewhere, but the last non-Ubisoft Wii game was just another music game, Let's Sing 2018 from 2017, meaning that Ubi had been the sole Wii publisher for 2 years straight. Also, there can no longer be official digital Wii games, due to the closure of the Wii Shop Channel in 2019. Considering all of that, and also the age of the console, Just Dance 2020 is for sure the very last officially released Wii game. I know that's hard to accept, and trust me, I am very nostalgic for the console, but it's time to move on. Gosh, this was a wall of text of a reply that is probably too late anyway. Edit: Literally right after posting this, I found out about two Europe-exclusive Wii games that were barely even able to release, but did so on July 9th, 2020. Wow.
