I love that to this day Tomato still references what a disappointing ending this game had lmao. I honestly think this should have just been a fishing game, if they wanted it to be a horror there should have been recurring things throughout the game that set a tone of creepiness and the ending should have had something to do with actual fishing, like a Lovecraftian anglerfish down there or something

The ending as I see it. The fish in the lake are lures drawing the player to go deeper The light is the light of an angler fish the hole its mouth By going in the player is caught by an eldritch angler and reeled in His consciousness is consumed I liked it

tomato wasn't lying in the intro by accident. this ending makes Mass Effect 3 look satisfying. If they just stuck with the holes part, and removed the claymation bullshit at the end it would've fine. But they just took a gigantic dump all over it. I hate post modernists thinking they're hot shit so much.

@@wearecoterminous the problem stems from the fact that the indie dev created so much potential build up but for one reason or another, the pay off for a 3-4 hour fishing game is a "spooky" animation with our character floating towards it. And nothing else

I know it's the "artist's vision" and all and we don't get a say in it, but what was even the point of creating this game? It's 99% fishing, 1% random imagery with no relation whatsoever to the rest of the game. Was the point to waste the time of whoever buys it? Is there an actual ending/story hidden like an easter egg? Well, I hope the creator is satisfied. Maybe he's laughing at all of us stupid, stupid plebs who just don't "get it."

I’m not saying the stream was bad, I think the game’s a cute fishing game, I just think it was a bad horror game. It would be better if there was more small eerie things to notice across the game, like if as you gradually got deeper you could see things coming out of holes grabbing the fish or something I’m disappointed because up until the ending I liked the game, and I still don’t think it was bad, it’s just so long for a game with such a short sudden ending

Personally I thought the game was quite fun. I do enjoy fishing games and this one had neat upgrades teasing the final goal of going in the green zone. Its normal for people to be disappointed by that ending, but hey the journey was fun! Cant deny I bursted with laughter when the screen just said "Bye" at the end. Tamto's reaction to it even more

The stream was fine, but people are allowed to be disappointed at the ending of a game. While I feel the game definitely failed to deliver the horror game aspect it was meant to, the rest of the product is cute and it probably would've been even better to have it play to those strengths more than try to have it be a horror game at like, the last few seconds. But if its /intent/ was to have the meat of the game with its cute art-style and fishing be the build-up to the promised horror aspects, then it unfortunately failed at that. The ending just... Failed to be much of anything. Just some trypophobia bait and a claymation bit at the end that honestly made me laugh cause it made me think of an Moral Orel skit.
