This was pretty cool tbh! I wasn't sure how I'd like it but the voice-over was great over the timelapse.

I like the flex here... But ultimately, as a viewer, I prefer you playing this the way you want to play it vs. optimizing everything ... as if you were a robot running a simulation. There is a certain charm to you playing this, and imo is the draw of these SIM city videos.... I enjoy these videos so much that I would be affraid of you burning yourself out or making it a chore, that is taking the optimal route. Just do you, have fun, thats enough for most of us 💞 All that said, again I do appreciate this video and as of right now your SIM city videos are my most watched videos on KZbin. Really enjoying the solo content of you playing a game you enjoy! 😎

We're totally on the same page here. I do enjoy min-maxing games (well, some games), but SimCity mostly brings out the Bob Ross in me. Still, though, sometimes I like to try and squeeze in extra buildings, so there's some optimization that I will pursue. Some cities will have high population or high profit because of this, but most are woefully under-optimized, and I don't mind at all :)

@@BasementLetsPlay I believe the easiest way for me to sum up is ... Playing a game like this is relative and success is also ... So, I don't think for a minute that there is a right or wrong way to play the game. I do understand and get what you're saying and agree. I just feel the need to reinforce that you're doing a wonderful job with these videos. I can see and feel your passion and it makes for a wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable experience... How you are with SIM City is how I am with Mario Maker. 😆 ... And you are a Bob Ross ... I love it. I especially like how you change objectives and intentionally make cities differentiating. And then a video like this proves your ability. I do this mentioned thing in SMM I enjoy minimalist design as well as aesthetic architecture/item overload. So sometimes I flex and expand on a concept as well as flex with aesthetics overload... But then, what I enjoy the most, sometimes I like making things look and play and feel like a real Mario game. Hence my Super World that I made. Anyway from one Bob Ross to another Bob Ross... Much love.

2:04 This region, released with the expansion, was designed for the expansion. An unforgiving desert with a nuclear blast crater in it. Very little water. Pollution on the map before anything happens. No forests, just a few cacti (which do the same job as trees, but you don't spawn with any). 2:32 Mistake; wrong department. Make Department of Finance first. 2:53 Inaccuracy; street is too close to the parallel avenue. Should be at least one block away. 3:29 Inaccuracy; avenue is too close to the parallel street. Should be at least one block away. 5:07 Would be a blunder; nuclear PP requires tech to not meltdown. 6 months to disaster. Tech will also flow into industry and especially Electronics factories. 5:57 Mistake; zoning pattern forces traffic to move perpendicular to the flow of workers from RC to I. Existing zoning pattern from the west (top of screen) should have been extended. 6:04 Blunder; taxes are too high. City will move out completely at this tax rate. $100K bonds from an early Department of Finance are better. 7:40 Not enough workers work in utilities for this to matter. 8:10 Mistake; you have enough money for an Oil PP. 10:45 Inaccuracy; the spacing is correct, but this pattern needs to be rotated 90 degrees. 11:43 Blunder; zoned roads are blocking the last place a Trade Port could be built proxy to railroad. 12:02 Inaccuracy; the car entrance to the Community College isn't lined up with the avenue-to-avenue intersection. 12:22 Inaccuracy; street is too close to the parallel avenue. Should be at least one block away. 14:09 The main inaccuracy of this layout is that the workers don't get out of their buildings and have a straight drive to their workplaces; they're all forced onto the avenues via turns. This contributes to traffic at high density. 15:16 They can be done, but not all at once. 19:31 An entire row moved just for streetcars. SimCity before the expansion must've been annoying :/ 23:50 The RCI is rotated wrong by 90 degrees, but other than that, it looks really good. You even found the optimal pattern for Processor Factories. 24:04 A nuclear PP behind the electronics production would be far more likely to meltdown, since the electronics factories would absorb all the tech before it reached the nuclear PP. 24:14 Not lost, just zoned later, so it's progressing behind the rest of the RC. 25:26 You've got $62M. Micro'ing your incinerators is not worth your effort. Lay back & relax with all your money :D 25:35 Hospital in a corner slows response times, especially to the industrial on the other side of the plot. Similar logic applies to police & fire. 25:54 The Community Colleges don't need to be this close to the industrial. Tech will flow throughout the city no matter the distance. The distance to worry about is from residential to the Community Colleges, which you should try to minimize. 26:03 GZ on getting a maxed University the right way :) 26:51 To get 600K with no megatowers, you'd have to cheese. The entire city must be low wealth. Fill the city with RC, wait for high density, and then bulldoze the C and rezone to R. This allows a one-time spike to 600k before unemployment and no jobs bring this house of cards crashing down. 26:54 City Hall isn't worth maxing out, anyway. You can get two city halls in cities built on rough plots to cover all the departments.

@@BasementLetsPlay Part of why the devs released this region for the expansion; the academy's ground scrubber is buried deep in the tech tree but will clean up the fallout quickly
