i agree I cannot stop watching such a lovely horse and a very enthusiastic rider who obviously loves riding and definitely loves his horse.

I am so tired of people citing rollkur when it isn't. I am the first person that hates rollkur but also know Juan Manuel Diaz personally and know that he loves his horses so much that he never asks of them more than they can give. He is a very gentle rider and it also must be remembered that the Spanish horse arches his head/neck naturally without anyone needing to apply force. Juan Manuel Diaz Muñoz is one of the greatest riders of Spain and doesn't need to use any force on his horses as instead he uses instinct and give/take.

Amanda is right. he proves it n this horse by taking both reins in a hand. this horse is naturally a Kings horse par excellence. as nice as they come. you can tell by his walk even . this is the dream Spanish horse. I have an equitation horse that goes "on the bit" in a halter if I so choose to take a fun ride on him and a Spanish mare who similarly would be behind the bit if not ridden forward and light. This horse was well trained and is fantastic. his extended canter is so dramatic. lovely in every way
@janeseamore13705 жыл бұрын
however the nice horse into the ring following this--- Totilas- is def a victim of rollkur which is unfortunate as is a very hardworking horse. these PRE horses really are spectacular.

Fuerdo was a stallion, bless him. Even in those breathtaking extensions we can see the reins are loose. Most importantly, the stallion's loins are muscled and convex. No rollur here.
@CatchLightAnne Жыл бұрын
@@janeseamore1370Agreed. Loins are concave. Hind quarters don't connect. Too much extravagant flipping of the front legs. It's what made dressage popular back in the day. I always enjoyed Nicole Uphoff and Rembrandt. He always reached for the bit. And then came Anki...

freestyle dressage the horse and rider are as one look at him mouthing on the bit which shows the rider is very light in the hand the movements are light commands but certainly not tugging on the horse or he would not be so smooth ask some of the top 6 riders to ride single handed down the arena and not break pace twice that is why horsemen around the arena applauded so loud for this performance
@Jefferdaughter5 жыл бұрын
Ah, yes, but that was not the only reason for the thunderous applause and cheering. This was such a magnificent example of true partenership between a horse and rider.

Why feel bad for Fuego? Northern warm bloods need to be tortured into this; a PRE like him comes by it naturally. The Lippizaners were bred from horses of PRE blood. Fuego gets to dance, but not in a bull ring. He's got it great. His people even put him in special shoes to make him more comfortable, his rider/trainer loves him dearly, Fuego has a nice life of a great pro athlete.

That isn't rollkür, in rollkür, the horse's head is far behind the vertical, to the point where the chin is almost touching the chest. however for 90% of this the horse is on the vertical, so it isn't rollkür.

Fuego is one of the few examples of a horse that is truly 'on the bit' and properly collected from the hindquarters forward, flexing at the poll, not down the neck, and the poll generally the highest point
@riverp901912 жыл бұрын
Very livelyperformance enjoy watching this combination allwaysYes warmbloods have more reach,elasticity,longer on the leg,higher more suspension, more forward impulsion,yes they do thats all there is too it.In dressage at this level there is no room for breed favoritism,its simply a question of it can or it can't for a PRE he does an awful lot,gets good scores.Ever seen a short arse ballerina or a mini wining formular one?Horses for courses as they say yet Fuego is there fantastic achievment.

I ride spanish horses and that is not Rolkur at all, PRE horses have stronger and thicker necks than any other breed and I can't see in this video the horse's chin going far too close to the chin, he's fine don't say stuff that you don't even know
@Jefferdaughter5 жыл бұрын
And this is a mature STALLION. Fuego has an even more muscular neck than he would if he had been gelded before maturity.

how may bits, snaffles,what have u, are in this poor mouth
@Jefferdaughter5 жыл бұрын
This is a standard bridle for a fully trained horse. They are started on a longe line in a cavesson (no bit), then a snaffle bit, and when their training has progressed far enough, a 'full bridle' is introduced. Their is a snaffle-type bit and a curb type bit, which have different purposes. With proper training of the horse and rider, this full aka 'double bridle' allows for subtle and precise communication between the horse and rider. They do not hurt the horse in any way. Watch any Western movie or old TV show to see how poorly trained horses react to one bit in the hands of people who cannot ride. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, of course, yet why do we listen to those who have opinions on things they know little or nothing about?
@evhajec12 жыл бұрын
Rolkur?????? the rest of the horse is amazing but that neck and head carriage makes me sad
@Jefferdaughter5 жыл бұрын
No rolkur, simply classical dressage training of an Andalusian, aka PRE, stallion. These horses, especially the stallions, naturally tend to carry their necks in an arch. If you watch a number of dressage videos, you will see that most of the dressage horses today incorrectly carry their heads behind the vertical most all the time, and incorectly flex their necks so the crest of the neck is the highest point, rather than the poll (top of the head). A moment or two here and there is fine, but most dressage horses have been taught to 'set' their heads that way, rather than the high neck coming from the lightening of the forehand (shoulders and neck) as the hindquarters become more developed and stronger, and the flexion at the poll coming from lightness to the hand and collection, where the horse gathers himself. Look and see for yourself, though the Spanish riders and thee Lipizzans are almost the only dressage horses you will find being trained and ridden correctly.
@riverp901912 жыл бұрын
Only thing is I wish he would keep his hands still, he seems to use them like leg or seat aids which is not ideal for scoring, mere finger movement or change of position should be enough, he looks like he's orchestrating the poor horses every stride with lttle jerks of the hand and lower arm instead of using light seat aids he's instructing the horse almost entirely through hand aids. Maybe this is something to do with classical training or the breed ?

Too bad they dubbed out the response of the fans....it was terrific and there was NO doubt that Fuego and Juan Manuel was THEIR favorite, if not the judges.
