Absolutely enjoyed this Rich. Tell Jim he's every bit of an icon as Madden for many of us old enough to have experienced both. And Rich, your show is becoming a landmark in its own right. Much appreciated.

That Ernie Ford part where he gave Jim the OK to go to NYC for the audition (~ 21:30)... brought a tear to my eye. Have to LOVE it when someone cares for your future and doesn't give you the short shrift just to cover their butts for the immediate future.

Hello Friends, Rich and Jim sharing their life stories on how each of them got starting in the business. This was great watching how each of your talked about people each of you knew and that as I have always said, "it's not what you know, it's who knows you." You two work very hard with your eye on the ball to get where you are today. Great interview Rich.

A beautiful nostalgic journey of a TV announcer-- really caught me off guard -- Always thought Nance grew up with a silver spoon, but the man absolutely paid his dues --- great success story.

Only in the Salt Lake market might you find the kind of magnanimous gesture that Jim Nantz got regarding his opportunity to audition for CBS....kudos to those that paved his way as a young announcer. They didn't have to but they did. We should all look for ways to help our younger colleagues get great opportunities.

I can relate to the sports announcers voice. I remember being in my little bedroom with my Zenith AM radio, there was no FM, listening to WBZ Boston, Dick Stockton, Speaking of Sports.

Nance mentioned a name I haven’t heard in 50 yrs. Jerry Trupiano was the play by play announcer for the Houston Aeros (WHL) in the early 70’s. Great job! I think he later covered my RedSox.

Awesome story from Nantz on how he got his 1st job in television. I wish the system still worked that way, those willing to hustle and grind get work but sadly, its about who can make the best resume and stick it into a computer program.

I was disappointed in JN and TR last broadcast where is was obvious Jim was taking sides by the way he was calling the game. His calls were enthusiastic for one side and less so for another when big plays happened. You would notice that if you as a fan were pulling for the team that was getting the monotone calls. I don’t think he realizes that from his perspective. He should review the tapes and see for himself.
