I can totally see that happening. There's so much tension between these two, plus Joe gets really aggressive and heated during each video. Sometimes, you can see by the looks in their eyes, that they're ready to fight. Edit: Changed "too" to "two".

It’s not the fact that he likes low complexity music, not every artist has to make complex music, it’s the fact that he can’t accept or appreciate that Kendrick makes music that you have to think about to understand the meaning.

He ain't wrong. Rap's first classic album was Kurtis Blows "The Breaks" which was all socialpolitical. Rap started as party music yes, but right away, like the moment people heard it, rap then became a avenue to express the pain in the ghetto. Both party music and conscience rap can exist, and in fact I agree with KRS-One, there has to be a balance between the two. Rap is at its worse when the party music overshadows the conscience rap. We rarely have had any era which political overshadowed party.
@tinyspeaker

Lmao if you are looking for socio political content in rap music then you're too lazy/uninterested to seek out real sociopolitical content. You know, books and articles. If you're trying to learn about society from rap chances are you aren't smart enough to read a book, so you dunces need something I supoose

We Kendrick fans don't care about "replay value" we love Kendrick for Kendrick. We didn't start listening to Kendrick for "replay value" we listen because he talks about shit that matters, because he'll out rap any fucking one, because your favorite rapper is afraid of coming at Kendrick cause he'll get fucking bodied. Kendrick was never for the mainstream he's just so fucking good that he forced his way too the "mainstream"

replay value is part of making timeless music. of course it matters.

gdiggedy9 however Kendrick's TPAB has amazing replay value, and so does DAMN with tracks like DNA, XXX, HUMBLE, and LOVE, were all great tracks, and I've had his album on repeat since the release, I just feel like he is a tough artist to get used, with his voice, and social lyricism.
@gdiggedy9
@gdiggedy9 7 жыл бұрын
+Work Account TPAB has low replay value for me. A good handful of songs on the album I just never feel like listening to. I'm big on lyricists, but I just can't sit through Kendrick's voice for extended periods. I try, but its awful to me. And it's funny. The songs you like on DAMN are my least favorite. So far DAMN sounds like his worst album to me. Not even close to Section 80 or GKMC. When TPAB came out a lot of people said GKMC was his pop album. DAMN makes GKMC sound like a horror-core album.
@cglean69
@cglean69 7 жыл бұрын
gdiggedy9 Yeah, I agree to some extent DAMN definitely wasn't a very lyrical album, more of a branch out of his other music, it kinda reminds me of more of a story album like logic but lacked substance compared to his other stuff.
