Just how good is the SIGMA 150-600mm F/5.6-6.3 DG DN Sport on the Sony Alpha 1?

I really appreciate your review & agree with all you've said. On my Sony A7IV it is the best long lens I've had in my 78 years. I will check your other reviews as I like how you address the len's performance on it's own merits.

Feels like you love this lens more than anything from Tamron's offering. I'll look for that video next. Also, your evaluation of its performance as being superior than Tamron's is different from others on this platform. I thought I was going to settle for the Tamron for its compact size but, you make this lens very interesting beyond it's already impressive focal lengths. Good to find you here, Bobby!

Thanks for watching. I like the Tamron for its size but the increased focal length of the Sigma with faster aperture does make this very appealing. Also found the burst mode to be faster in the Sigma than the Tamron. The Tamron is a good lens and enjoyed it, but from my experiences the Sigma is the better performer.

You did not mention the internal focus of the 200-600mm, which is big plus over this zoom, but I agree the price is very attractive, CHEERS!

True but the dual action zoom on the sigma allows one to change focal length faster. So it’s about personal preference

They will not make a teleconverter for E mount. They issued statements back when the 100-400 was released that they have not obtained the necessary licenses to do so from Sony. I doubt Sony will change their tune for the 150-600.

Thanks for watching. One of the main things is setting AF-C priority to Release. Set RAW files to compressed or lossless. AF Point to wide or zone

If you've got an a1 the sony 200-600 is clearly the best option.

Perhaps, depends on one’s needs. Teleconverter yes, internal zoom yes. Aperture range not quite and size when travelling the sigma is shorter. The 200/600 is a fantastic lens and not knocking it in the least, but also need to take in the strengths and weaknesses of each lens and decide what is right for you

@@GeekCulture yes, I have to back packs and the Sony would of fit in only my full length back backpack. I would have had to seperate both my rooms in it to make room. The sigma sits in the bottom portion sideways perfectly. Yes I wish sigma had tc but we have to weigh the + and -'s... Keep up the great content!! Also do you think Sigma will come out with a 70-200 or 35-150 similar to the Tamron?

I think the main difference is the Internal Zoom of the Sony 200-600 its just so superior regarding speed and smoothness.

You were mentioning all the time the Sony 200-600 mm G Master lens. But actually that Sony lens is just a 'regular' G lens and not a G Master which would have made it a lot more expensive.

The teleconverter is not allow on a Sony mount. Sony does not allow 3rd party companies to make it. Also, it is limited to 15 frames only. The A1 will be an issue. Also, other viewers found this lens is lightly lagging in AF. Hopefully a firmware can fix it. I wanted the teleconverter, that really sucks

Hahaha besides the big cats many were moving quite rapidly. I don’t show a series of images due to time and space but can assure you these weren’t all sleeping animals
