Thanks for a very interesting review of your airstrip! You really have to be "on your toes" to fly in and out of that; you chaps make it look easy! Being on speed and nailing the touchdown spot are not optional. It's very much like bush flying in Alaska; landing on a slope precisely, with proper energy management to arrive at "the top" without adding power, or having an overrun. Kudos to all!

I had no idea it was that steep until I saw it from those different perspectives. Great video, Tim!

Thanks for the video. As a crop duster, I found steep sloped hills to be useful in areas of many 40 acre fields with fences. A flat quarter mile, if rough or the grass is high, doesn't make a suitable spray strip even with a light load in the hopper. A steep quarter mile, like your field, makes takeoff with a full hopper possible.

I never get bored of seeing the Naylands slope. I think I first stumbled on The Flying Reporter laughing himself silly as you took him up, and from there I started following you. If my pre-covid plans had progressed I may have even managed to fly in myself to say "hello" but those plans fell off the back of the back burner ! Can I wish you, John, Duncan et al at Naylands a very merry Christmas and I look forward to watching all your 2025 adventures, albeit not always at 7am on a Friday morning.

In terms of showing the steepness of Nayland, this is the best video so far. Not for the fainthearted! I've just passed my NPPL GST so who knows - perhaps one day I'll find myself 'flying the hill' (NOT just yet though!). Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you, Tim. Here's to more flying adventures in 2025. 🙂👍

@@JodelFlyer Definitely a 'one shot' situation! I flew gliders briefly so can relate to the idea of no go-around, but I've no doubt Nayland is a little buttock-clenching until you develop the skills.

I've been following you a long time now Tim, and that's the best review of Nayland I've seen. An excellent explanation of the slope (which is bigger than I thought). Seasons greetings to you all, and keep vlogging if you can, it's clear to see you have some loyal followers. I'll look forward to seeing you again on 2025! 👌🏻👍🏻

Still find it hard to believe that my videos are being watched in France, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, America, Canada, Brazil and Ghana and they are just the ones I know! Think that makes it every continent apart from Antarctica ? 🤣
