Just In! Aussie Grom packs a big closeout before the Vans Pipe Masters

15-year-old Ocean Lancaster packed a huge closeout in the dark before the Vans Pipe Masters began today!
On his first trip to Hawaii, and his first surf at proper pipe, Ocean decided to try his luck in the building swell that was already seeing 3rd reef wash-through's
He managed to jag a wave amongst the thick crowd of pros warming up for the comp, and although he didn't make it, it's that type of commitment that gets you noticed in this lineup and gets you comfortable at this heavy, dangerous wave.
Ocean is in Hawaii as part of the Surfing Australia High Performance Talent Identification Program.
