Disagree. The right person for the job will always be a man. We can't build a time machine and go back to the first women and insist all men and all women serve in armed combat equally, so there really is no way to "equalize" all the sacrifice MEN have made for our species. Simply put, women will NEVER be able to say they've collectively done anything to deserve ANY positions of power. No sacrifice, no power.

Wow !! Mrs. Stefanik looks really good. Not to sound superficial or to ignore her qualifications and this nomination, it's just that her appearance seems different and an improvement from when I had seen of her previously operating in her previous capacity on Capitol Hill. I have watched her operate from various panels and oversight committees and have always been impressed by her stance as a conservative and that includes her defense of and pro-Israel position. I agree with what Stefanik elaborated her policy. May I suggest that at the UN General assembly, instead of 1 country 1 vote, votes should be proportional to the contributions each country makes. Votes can be fractional for some countries and multiple votes for others.

What relevance is the United Nations given that they have not benefited the world through their core mission of resolving conflicts and promoting stability throughout the world. The United Nations itself has become a deterrent to peace and stability.

US has a history of teaching regarding model UN (United Nations) and we believe no other world body achieves its success in achieving broad agreements on many human rights treaties including the Rights of the Child and UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. It again brought together leadership on the new, modernized Sustainable Development Goals. Of course, the UN Security Council is what is core to peace and stability and as always, could use a review of its structures and procedures especially in light of Russian Federation being in charge (rotating chair) during the invasion of the Ukraine!

The only way I knew of the destruction in Alleppo, Syria and concurrently, 2014 bombing over airspace of the Ukraine by Russia was through reports of human rights abuses to a subcommittee of the United Nations! The newsmedia followed much later to the broad American public.

@JulieAnnRacino you make some valid points and I'm not saying that there aren't justifiable reasons for having a Global Response and agreement between countries for good, but clearly there are some Sinister aspects of the UN that truly undermine the very word United in this effort. I guess my objection is the same in any governing body that attempts to control outside the balance and checks of the will of the people which we have no say nor vote in a substantial way as citizens of the world.Thanks for your comment.

There are many competing global health organizations especially as related to vaccines and pharmaceuticals.
