@@TheLittleBlueFly For very little money you can have a CNC make faux books out of pine for your staircase. Each strip would come approximately 7 feet long and about a half inch thick. They would be raised and would look just like real books. The strips would have to be individually painted. That would be a fun project. That is a lot of intricate hand painting but definitely well worth it. Also easily applied with thin backing tape or small finish nails. Maybe a future project.

@@TheLittleBlueFly I'm between San Antonio Texas and Austin Texas, in my area there are a couple of small shops that have CNC lathes large enough to pull this off. I have a pretty big shop myself I just do not have a CNC lathe yet. I do have lathes but not CNC...

Beautiful! Here's a tip for the molds, I use them all the time with air dry clay...lightly dust the inside with cornstarch, the molded clay pops right out, never sticks.

I am a retired librarian and I have had that book decal in my Etsy list for a couple of years! I was a little unsure about how it would look so I held off getting it. A lot of people don't realize that all the fancy ornamental details is old house are actually plaster which was very practical as being cheaper than wooden accents. Your staircase is straight out of Olde England, for sure. Just beautiful, great job, Beverly!

I'm Australian so no Thanksgiving here, but I hope you had a lovely day with you family. I love using moulds to dress up items. If you're having trouble removing the clay, before you place it dust a little talc or cornflour with a brush and then it'll pop right out. To stop cracking, with another brush go over your mould, once glued down, with some water, it helps to stretch it without cracking. This all looks so beautiful, really looking forward to part 2 xx

Jaw dropping!!! First of all the staircase--I am a bibliophile and would never have thought of doing what you did--awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! Secondly the moldings--just bought some and did not know what I wanted to do with them--what you did was brilliant! Next the frames for your lithographs were perfect but not an obvious choice so all the more enchanting....oh I could go on and on but better not. Bev, Wow!
