After that comment, I ventured into getting a few lever machines - a La Pavoni Professional and a restored Zacconi spring lever. As a passionate espresso machine technician with years of experience, I've had the privilege of working with lever machines from the '60s, including the Faema Faemina. Perfect product line. You get the initial device and discover it makes the coffee cold, so you get the heater, but then you realize the pressure affects the flavor so you get the gauge and then you realize you want to to the coffee drip so you get the mirror. And of course your regular grinder is just not up to this whole process, so you need a new one of those, and a new wire tool and tamper. This is us like: what product can we make that will start affordable and then make people want to just keep upgrading? Brilliant. And not really that expensive. All for 2 oz of coffee.

Love the product. Not the pretentious espresso music lol. It’s on every video these days. Amazing product though I’m so happy with the 58+!!!! Now I don’t have to heat up my espresso machine for 20+ minutes just for a single shot of espresso. Also loving the bellman for steaming milk. Fantastic combo. Bezzera Magica PID with flow control. Acaia Lunar scale, Eurika Oro SDG, Lagom mini 48moonshine, Comandante x25, Picopresso, Flair 58+, Stag ekg studio. Etc etc etc etc etc etc . Also 100 Weber workshop resin been storage for the freezer. New daily driver is Flair 58 + Bellman for steam. Really impressed.

With a manual lever machine like the flair, you have full control over how good/bad it is. If you've dialled in a good coffee, got the prep right and applied the correct pressure the espresso is going to better than any auto machine, and at least as good as some very expensive semi-autos.

@@SuperMatchaLatte I mean, lag screws into the wall studs and a mounting plate would work. You could buy a simple powdercoated plate to match the 58+, find the studs, and drill lag screws into them, bolting the plate to the wall. From there find a way to mount the 58+ to the mounting plate, and I think you’d be in business 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’m a contractor, and anything can be done if you really want to!

Anyone staying at a high altitude like me. My boiling temp is 90c/194f. Does it affect your brew?

It will, yes, but there are things you can do to compensate. For starters, start with well developed medium roast level which should extract just fine at that temp, and use a lower dose og ~ 16-18g. Join the user group to learn more bit.ly/BrewWithFlair

Looks like the cable is entirely detachable from the brew chamber. The first one has a little bit of wire sticking out of it. Then they put a mirror onto the side and changed the color of the wood accents.
