Understand your frustration...on the other hand my mate fell of a trailer last week, broke his hip and smashed his femer, when he does come out of hospital he will be off work for at least a year, he is agency so basically he is fucked, no come back either as he is not suposed to be on the trailer.

Thanks, Paul. I hope your mate gets a full recovery. There's nothing worse than not being able to work and provide for your family. I hope he is doing well. Like I said in previous answers, if the site has these rules, then you must follow them, but these rules should be displayed around the site. Every site has different rules when it comes to H&S... and not all forbid drivers to climb on the trailer. If they display them, I will follow them. The issue in my case was that there was no sign anywhere, I was actually off-site and on the main road, and the way I was spoken to.

Florin, they are not worried about you suing them if you fall off your own trailer. They have to treat everyone as a potential accident waiting to happen and prevent any unnecessary risk. If you stumbled and fell off, hitting your head you could be seriously injured or even die. The HSE has really strict guidelines and anyone on the site that sees you climb up without fall protection and fails to stop you could be held responsible. They could face a serious penalty if you did have an accident, from a hefty fine to imprisonment. That said, you know that it's your responsibility to not have falling debris from your trailer, so you need to sweep it clean before going back into the public roads. H&S rules can feel really annoying, but try not to take it personally. Everyone is just trying to do their jobs and protect themselves from liability. If you want to take the risk (as low as it is) to climb up then be prepared to do it off site like you ended up doing. Or just sweep it with a broom while standing either side of the trailer, but remember to wear eye protection! Great video mate with some nice reversing. Stay safe ❤

Thank you 😀 I totally agree with what you said. The problem is that not all sites have the same rules. As you've seen probably later in the video and from some of my other videos, on some sites you can climb on the trailer on some not. Now the ones that have a strict policy have signs all over the place informing about them rules. Like Celsa, Worksop Galvanising and so on... they have signs everywhere. Also construction sites have different rules and signs everywhere informing us about them. In this case there was no sign anywhere and I was also out of site... I was on the road. I know in the video it sound like I'm saying "out of his site" but I'm actually saying "out of his sight" 😁 I also had a problem with the way he spoke to me which really ignited all my anger 😊 But again, I totally agree with what you said and thank you for watching 😀

There's no need to talk like s*#t to anyone, and yes, I only realised the driver when I was editing the video and decided to include the footage 😅 The other one was trying to go when I was reversing back in the crane place and biped my horn at him... everyone's in a rush and cause more delays 😂 Hope you have a great weekend too.
