The transgender deputies of ShadowClan! Russetfur and Rowanclaw are actually really similar characters, I imagine little Rowankit looking up to and wanting to be like Russetfur, maybe even finding his identity through her. He’d grow hostile towards outsiders and bloodthirsty just like her, until he falls in love with Tawnypelt, an ex-ThunderClan cat, and his whole world view changes. Maybe he even grows to hate Russetfur and all she stands for. Either way, she dies and he immediately takes her place as deputy. Way to go, Blackstar, just replace a green-eyed, dark ginger, xenophobic, aggressive deputy with another one.

honestly, I really feel like Boulder gets forgotten about. him and russet were the same age, yet he died of old age and was forgotten. kind of sad really, they were friends. I LOVS THIS THO!!
