I use the specs that the owners provide to me. I don't argue with them about it. A lot of older vehicles have had mods done to them for various reasons, and they may appear to be a different year. A common one is the front clip. Small accident and the front clip is replaced, but it's a slightly different year. That is very common on these older vehicles.

@@JustOldTrucks Agreed and there is factory stuff that has older or newer parts installed.
