My issue isn't that Ruby is older, it's that Oscar's head is home to what essentially amounts to an eons old body-jumping angst wizard who could - should he so choose to - kick back with some metaphysical popcorn and narrate their entire relationship like it's a David Attenborough documentary. The poor kids would have a chaperone *24/7.* I want to ship Rosegarden SO BADLY but that thought just... makes me uncomfortable. I really hope that Oscar ends up assimilating Ozpin rather than Oz assimilating Oscar. If Oscar is Oscar with Oz's memories, that's acceptable and I will be endlessly happy if it becomes canon, but if Oscar is just Ozpin in an Oscar meat suit... absolutely not.

I’m not trying to demean Ruby in a way to make it sound like she’s some prize to be won by somebody. Not even a rosegarden shipper, but honestly I’d be okay with Ruby loving him, the poor kid has been through so much.. tortured, brought into a war, had his life taken away from him, ostracized by his own group for the actions of another.. yet he just does his best and doesn’t let it break him.
