Great video. Love how you captured the confusion and anxiety Clara and the Doctor are going through in light of this major change in their relationship. How you timed the Doctor's eyes opening at 0:52-0:53 with the fatal gunshot from that scene in Torchwood: Children of Earth was absolutely perfect.

Another great work. The way you always see the connections and parallels, across a range of episodes, is breathtaking. Combined with the incredibly intuitive understanding of how specific images, dialogue and editing techniques will affect the viewer (and GREAT music choices), your stuff is genuinely intelligent fanvidding at its best. I mean I can't heap enough praise on it - the precise contrasting of 11 and 12 in this video brings home the emotions Clara is feeling in an all new way; you know a fanvid is doing something incredibly right when you come out of it feeling a better understanding of the series itself. And I loved the understated inclusion of Caecilius and John Frobisher when touching on the mystery of 12's face, suggesting both the good and bad.

God, this is one of my absolute favorite vids addressing Clara and Eleven versus Clara and Twelve. Such a challenging transition for both of them. I always have the following thoughts: 1) Bringing in not just Capaldi's character from Pompeii but also from Torchwood COE is brilliant; 2) The music choice is just weirdly perfect; 3) The slow-mo of Twelve (in a mask of Eleven's face!) pulling Clara around is epically timed... there's probably more but I just love this start to finish!

I'm not crying, it's just been raining on my face... This video reveals everything I saw in the first episode of the new season. Whatever Doctor says about his not being Clara's boyfriend, he knows it's not true. Well, it's not false either 'cos he's not her boyfriend - he's her beloved. And no matter how I like Doctor&River, Doctor&Clara seems to me the best love line since Doctor&Rose. And this video shows it perfectly. Thank you, Katrin! God knows how much I needed your work.

I actually ended up liking the episode a lot more than I thought I would. I actually really loved it, but no one will ever replace Matt Smith to me, so the part where he called on the phone actually made me cry. I am really sad since Clara was the first companion I ever actually wanted with the doctor, as I never liked any of the other pairings :( Your video captured all of that very well~ I really enjoyed watching it. So, so good. Your video; the episode was kinda meh, although this made me like it a lot more. Not Capaldi; he was fantastic, and I love Twelve and Clara's interactions so far. It's all the episode that didn't feature the two of them that left me feeling sort of whatever. I also wish Twelve had gotten a better moment; Nine saved London, both Eleven and Ten saved the world, and they did it with flair; Twelve saved a few people from a robot, and did it possibly by killing it. Not so epic, and I can't tell how I feel about that last part. Darker Doctor is fun and all, but I'm not sure I want them to make him a killer. Anyway, I ramble; the point is that this was a great video! You did a great job showing the change in the Doctor, and the change in the Doctor/Clara relationship, and the one thing that will hopefully always stay the same - that they have each other's backs.

In my opinion it was really great that he didn't save the whole universe/planet. It was just a nice change, I was getting sick of saving the planet/universe over and over a thousand times and it really show how much the Doctor cares about others. He murdered someone, so he could save others. It's really showing that the series have taken a turn and now has a darker tone. I think there's going to be a bit more murder, but they're going to have weight and the Doctor will rethink what he actually believes in, which is a really amazing. With the last few Doctors it got a bit more "Action" rather than "Drama", but they're changing it back, there's going to be a lot more conversations and less blowing stuff up. I think it's going to be a bit more like Sherlock and I'm really happy about this, but the usuall sci-fi stuff like saving everyone is going to go away or at least won't be in every episode, but I think it's going to be a huge let down for the fans of the 11th Doctor, it's going to be nothing like that era, so a lot of people (maybe you're one of them) won't going to like it. Sorry for the long comment, I got a bit carried away, so if we meet outside of the internet some day I shall give you your well earned potato.

It kind of made me a bit nervous really, the Doctor convinced the guy to kill himself, much like what the third Doctor was like. Not that it won't make great television, but that was a portion of the past that the Doctor has voiced to be ashamed of. If he reverts back to his old ways, then we should be expecting the Doctor to be rather self-hating and indeed, dark.

I had a strong feeling they tried to bring in as many references as possible, and while I believe I did notice most of them like 'you've redecorated - I don't like it', they didn't make me feel the way they were supposed to, like some emotional connection was lacking. perhaps that happened because they were placed rather randomly throughout the episode, as if they had a quota to meet, but didn't actually care if those references would fit in well where they'd put them. both Peter and Jenna were great in my opinion, and I feel it's the writers' fault that the episode didn't move me in a way that I'd expected it to.

You may not agree but I think in deep breath they shouldn't have shown Matt Smith. I think the phone call was too much. When Tennant regenerated, you didn't see him pop up again straight away? The Same goes with Eccleston. I think when the Doctor regenerates, you have to learn to move on (which can be hard, well it is for me anyway! Especially from Ten to Eleven it was) And when you see Smith or Tennant again or any of the others it makes us sad and makes us miss them, I think It took the attention away from Twelve. Personally, I think they should have just used Eleven's voice on the call. But then again I do understand why they thought it'd be a good scene to use, not just to reassure Clara, but to reassure us as well that although there is a new Doctor, he is still the same mad man with a box and we should love Capaldi as much as Smith, Tennant, Eccleston or any of the other Doctors and we shouldn't judge his new face.

Disagree, if you actually listen to what Matt says to Clara on the phone, it's like he's saying it to everybody watching.. Letting us know that Capaldi is more scared than any of us and to help him. I think it was a great way to pass over the masses of Matt Smith fans over to Capaldi to be given a chance.
