Whatever you celebrate, thanks for being here and watching this year. I have some big things coming up in 2025 that I can't wait to tell you about. In the meantime, I decided to extend the insane Black Friday deal through the end of the year. Normally the price would go up after that weekend, but I honestly just felt like that wasn't necessary this year. If it helps make it more practical for even one person to get started, that's worth it to me. So, if you've ever thought about getting started learning the piano, you can get my entire course library (8 full courses) for $99 for the next week only. They're normally over $700 if purchased individually, so this works out to be over 80% off. Enjoy and thanks so much for your support! shop.betterpiano.com/

I enjoyed all of these quite a bit, but "We Three Kings" was definitely the highlight for me. A lot about this Christmas season (and broader October-December holiday season) hasn't gone quite how I'd hoped, but it's still been good. I've been trying to keep more of my focus on the birth of Jesus, and that's helped me a lot. I've been consistently practicing piano for a few months now, largely focused on hymns so I can eventually play for my church if/when necessary. At my start of mixing in Christmas hymns this season, playing "O Come, All Ye Faithful" felt really good, like, in my soul. I've been pondering the wonder, mystery, majesty, and purpose of Jesus' birth (especially with songs like "What Child is This?" and "Thou Didst Leave Thy Throne"). I think this performance of "We Three Kings", especially its darker moments, excellently captures how strange it must have been for those men of great wealth and status to see that star in the sky and be compelled to follow it such a great distance, bringing gifts that most would think absurd for a child. But I think they knew what they were doing. I think they knew that Child was important. When I clicked on this video, I did not expect to end up this deep in thought and so emotionally moved, but here we are. Merry Christmas, and God bless you, Charles. Please do more of these whenever it feels right.

Charles, it's such a treat to hear you just play. I mean, I love when you're nerding out with theory, and your explanations are super insightful and enlightening. I learn a lot from your theory videos, but these are so much different, they're like a balm on the soul. Theory videos show your knowledge and understanding of music. Videos like these touch the soul, and they show (to me at least) a different side of you, as a musician and just a human being. It's incredible how music can connect us on a deep emotional level, where no words/explanations are needed. So yes please share some of these videos. It was such a treat!

Hello Mr. Cornell. This is probably my 5th comment that I've left since I started using youtube since it began. I read your comment about how youtube doesn't incentivse videos "like this", but I must say that this type of video touches me on a deeper level than any of the other silly things out out nowadays. It tickles my brain, makes my heart flutter, causes me to blink a little slower. Whether or not you continue making videos like this is irrevelant in the grand scheme of things; I will always remember them. This , your 5 levels of Happy Birthday videos and your fly me to the moon are my favourite ones. The meme-y ones are extremely clever and artistic, but they are just simply a musician's step into the world of the silliness of the internet. The soul is where music will always lie. I hope that you and anyone else who reads this will find some comfort in knowing that the human spirit still thrives and continues to express themselves to the few chosen ones like Mr. Cornell, for all to enjoy. I wish everyone a wonderful life and most importantly, that you find what ever that you are looking for.
