JUST the 2 OF US, and a BOTTLE of WINE

This video diary starts in the city of Niort which is the French capital of mutual insurance and bank companies. Its historic centre is located on the left bank of the Sèvre Niortaise river and as we wonder around this historic city we can't help but think of how much nicer it would be if we had just even half a day of weather on our side...
To drown our sorrows of being constantly hampered by the terrible weather we stop at a family run vineyard where they offer a free tour and wine tasting session for all the vans and motorhomes that stop by for the night. It certainly made for one of our best evenings so far and we didn't even have a sore head in the morning, but we were 2 bottles of red wine to the good for future date nights.
Before crossing the Pyrenees and heading back into Spain we can't proceed without visiting the market town of Lourdes, which contains the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes and has became one of the world's most important sites of pilgrimage and religious tourism. We're blown away by the history and in 1858, it is said that the Virgin Mary allegedly appeared in the Grotto of Massabielle and thus Lourdes has become a major place of Roman Catholic pilgrimage and of miraculous healings. Lourdes water supply actually flows from a spring in the Grotto of Massabielle in the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes. Lourdes certainly did not disappoint even if the streets were teeming with tourist tat shops!
As we make our way across the Pyrenees and just back to the Spainsh side we end this video diary in the village of Sallent de Gallego high in the mountains. Guess what? It rained the whole time we were there so no footage was taken. We did however love the 'Gorillas In The Mist' style drive through the mountains and down towards the Pico's de Europa which are coming soon!

I'll be hitting the beaches, And sea all the way down past malaga. I do underwater treasure hunting. Also a bit of spearfishing. Might go inland and do some local swimming spots.Im really good at finding Ring Pulls 🤣
