Oh wow this is so smart. Never thought to use clear to even the tips with my natural nails!! I’m maybe on my 6th set of doing tips and dip and this was my recent struggle: filing too thin the tips and not having a strong enough foundation for longer nails! Will try this :)

FYI The 180 IS the softer side. 100 is a harder grit. So you definitely don't want to use the 100 side to buff out your nail or really use any part of it for this kind of service as the grit is too coarse. The higher the number the softer the texture. I love those particular Sally's Beauty Supply nail files. They are the best!

Hi Rachel why do you use PH BOND on top of dip when its designed for usage on the natural nail
@RachelATSchmitz2 жыл бұрын
I use ph bond to see what my nail is looking like. It takes away whiteness and buff/file lines. You could use activator but using too much activator can cause your nails to crack with wear.

Question, you mentioned don't dip twice in clear, what about with a chunky glitter? If I don't dip twice I end up losing the glitter. It either flakes off or the color gets filed off.
@RachelATSchmitz2 жыл бұрын
So I would do a second dip but only after letting it sit a while. Like if it looks wet I don’t immediately dip again without doing base again first.

Why is dipping in clear twice a no no? Is Ph bond in replacement to dehydrator? Thanks
@RachelATSchmitz2 жыл бұрын
Yes PH is a dehydrator. When you dip twice in clear it’s like it doesn’t soak in all the way the second time so you are way more likely to get white spots and your clear to look cloudy.

After you apply them all and add the activator you have to wait a few minutes so that it can all “cure” if you wait that few mins the chunks won’t come out
@barbboran45672 жыл бұрын
FYI a 180 grit file is less abrasive and therefore will take u longer vs 100 grit which is coarser. I would afraid to use 100 grit as I’m afraid it would take my color off even with a clear dip over the top. Love your videos!
