I decided to do the math because I was interested in just how much Gold Baalor made off of that Hand of Greed: He bought the HoG for 97 Gold. Act 1 was 200 Gold, and he was making profit after the third fight after purchasing HoG. Act 2 he made a whopping 275 Gold off of the enemies in the City. In Act 3 he went back to 200 Gold, in part because he had to fight four Elites in a row and the Hand of Greed didn't line up well enough. That makes for 675 Gold total, which multiplied by the Membership Card leaves him with 1350 Gold, 1253 of which was pure profit. If he DIDN'T have the Membo Card, he would have 481 Gold, and be in profit by defeating the boss of Act 1. Not nearly as ridiculous but still a nice chunk. Finally in Act 4 he scored a last 25 Gold off the Spire Shield, which I assume is for bus fare for the Silent to get back home to the foglands.

My two takeaways from this run are: 1) Very early Membership Card coupled with Hand of Greed may be the single most overpowered thing you can do in the game. 2) Frozen Eye fundamentally changes the way that you play Slay The Spire. It. Is. Bonkers. Thanks for thr content, as always.

I have 575 hours in slay the spire, I have Asc 20 Heart kills on every character, I understand the strenght of most "archetypes" for each class.... I just found out that by the color of the blob you know if it will frail or weakend you. Thank you for making me realize I'm a bit dummy.

Mastering a card means I need to have two distinct copies of the card - upgraded or not - in my permanent deck (visible on the run history screen) while beating the Heart

I would be very interested to see if a pacifist run would work on this game.. like no attacks all block and caltrops and other cards that deal damage that aren’t attack cards. That’d be super cool to see.

Certain fights would be a major pain and require high rolls to win without attacks, two off the top of my head would be Gremlinnob and Giant Head. You could eventually build up to an infinite to produce block and have some non-attack damage source(s) which, depending on the quality of your infinite (which really only matters for time eater and heart) should win every fight. An example would be a silent infinite with tingsha for damage and gamble/tactician/acro +block from any source. The obvious problem is the starter deck needs to attack to ever make a "pacifist" build in the first place.
