At this point probably the piece inside the front top panel is broken so the arms can slide easily. I’m talking about the ring piece that has half the side window

That is a pretty fun and cool looking transformation. Man I wish these guys were like this when I was a kid! Very cool take on this character. The 86 Movie line has been pretty cool in my opinion.

I think that it's pretty safe to say that clipping the part of the roof with the "lights" on it is a production issue since pretty much all comments here mention it. I think what happened was that they cast everything in abs and then go "yup, that works", and then they replace the abs with clear plastic, which expands slightly more than abs for whatever reason. Just think back to all the times when clear plastic has had a bad fit lik this. I really think that is what is going on here - just plain old incompetence makes them think that clear plastic and abs have the same properties - and they don't. It's less flexible, seems to expand more and that combo leads to oh so many broken clear plastic parts, and extra stress whenever used as a joint.

4:24 I cannot for the life of me unhook the front as easily as he did. So instead, unhook the back, ie lift up the back flaps where the back bumper is. By the time you've parted the legs, the front parts will have loosened up and unhooked themselves.

I have used this most excellent guide quite a few times now but I have never gotten the front end pegged into the rest of the roof in vehicle mode..... You know it's actually difficult when you hear Emgo have a struggle sound in his voice doing it.

“phew” - That 3:00 -to-4:00 time mark is REALLY finicky. The panels fight me the whole way, and seem to be under constant pressure to pop open (or BREAK!). Still…vehicle-mode looks good and robot-mode is GREAT. Thanks for the tutorial, Emgo!

Mine doesn't either and neither does the ones my two friends has. Hasbro and their great QC issues continues again. I've had problems with Grapple, Skids and Dead End not pegging in properly. With all 3, I was able to fix them by simply filling some pieces down. With this, I have no idea what's causing it so I'm stuck witha Transformer that's hot a gap. I take that back, Kingdom Rodimus Prime trailer doesn't peg in properly as well and that's not fixable.

I think the problem boils down to the general desgin, its someone trying to be clever but in reailty, its not that clever of a desgin, a very flawed desgin, if anything, I would say aside from the feet, the ER mold has the superior alt mode, this one is just a big mess of a desgin!
