Just What on Earth is Actually Happening in Evangelion?

I don’t know why but whenever anybody experiences anything they always need an explanation to explain that experience. With Evangelion, I didn’t need an explanation. I feel like Evangelion is just pure art.

As a long time Eva fan who just clicked on this for funzies and ended up watching the whole thing, you did a solid enough job explaining what on earth is actually happening heh loved the vid!

Thank you! I know I skipped some things and could have expanded on some stuff like how the Eva's would Awaken and the MPE, but I'm glad you liked it! I had always heard about Eva but it took me going to that exhibition to decide to finally watch it and I do not regret it!

you made good videos man keep it up, but make em more snappy, like more dynamic and spend less time thanking and talking ab like u and how you feel, make separate short videos for that, but you make good slop that i will keep putting on the background of my league 4am benders

hii so actually both endings are separate, and both are cannon, along with the rebuilds, but end of eva was partially also a response to fan hate over end of Tv… idk if anyone else said this but time restraints and budget cuts had to do with the choppy ending of the tv show yes; but end of eva was indeed different in many ways, and probably wouldn’t have been created at all if not for the hate the end of tv got. idk if that makes sense! it’s super weird

the asuka and eva series fight was drawn during TV, yes, but that’s all we really have to clue in at the entirety of end of eva being a “true ending” of some sort. i mean, the movie had plasters of the death threats and letters sent to anno throughout scenes in the movie, all from the response to the original ending

I think me calling it the "true ending" is a bit of a misnommer now I think about it because, as you said, a lot changed throughout the production of Eva that I don't know if even Anno would say there is a definitive ending! It sucks that Anno felt the need to make End of Eva because of such vitriolic fan reaction!

I did wonder why a Japanese director would pull Jewish folklore into things but Gnosticism could actually explain a lot of those peculiarities!
