Nice one John, I love these head to head videos. I have not tried either of these but they are on my list. Cheers!

I bought a 2010 Bere Barley when it came out. I liked it so much I Went back to the store next day and bought 5 more lol. Gave 2 to each of my boys. I’m now on the last dregs. Haven’t seen the 2012 on the shelves.

I had an issue with a super loose cork in an Octomore I bought. They sent me a bag full of corks and also 100ml of the Octomore 9.3 (I had bought the 9.1). Amazing customer service.

Really cool comparison between these two. I need to open my Bere Barley 2010 soon. Can't help but be a big fan of Bruichladdich. Cool shirt too! Cheers 🥃

Great comparison John! I really like the 2010. It smells and tastes like a hay bale to me and I totally agree with the Kilkerran comparison. They both have that grassy character. Now I will have to track down a 2012 Bere Barley.

You had me going there for a while with reviewing the older release. I'm sure i saw the 2012 video and a comparison is really valuable. I was tempted by a 2011 Islay barely that was available for a while and only$69. The new one is $99 and the Organic 2011 is down to $99. Haven't seen a Bere for a while. I'm still working on a 2007 Islay barley. I find these unpeated offerings to be the only whisky to really showcase the malt. You have to pay a little bit for the experience but I can't think of any other option that is giving us this raw spirit to explore. A little more age would be nice but that would cost even more. I've curtailed the collecting lately and I am with you on the search for distillery character instead of wine cask flavors, I just can't control the urge to pour peat or sherried or sherried peat drams.

We’re on the same page Jack. Agree Bruichladdich is an experience in what malted barley is and can be. Islay Barley are a great example. Just picked up the new Laphroaig Cairdeas and will be revisiting soon. Cheers 🥃

@@justwhisky the next new????newer than warehouse 1? I am so ready for that. I have thus far passed on Batch 15 @$99 but I expect this Cairdeas to be north of $110.

If I were you, I would complain about the T-shirt. Maybe they will send you new corks… Like the Bruichlladdich series a lot. I hope someday you are able to try the older 10y laddie, a must try. (the 46% version, not the 50%)

I have tried the 10 at a sampler event last year. I will be reviewing the Classic 8 in the future. Cheers 🥃 Funny about tshirt vs corks…
