From the names of the colors on the palette, for sure “icy patch” and “snow business” are from Muppet Family Christmas. There are actually 5 or so muppet Christmas movies (not counting emmet otter or Christmas toy), so I think this is an ode more to the role of the muppets in American Christmas traditions over the last 30 years. Christmas is also when the muppets come out for live shows at Disneyland. Muppets & Christmas are meant for each other

The Muppets Christmas Carol is my absolute favorite Christmas movie. I read Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol every December (or listen to the Audible version read by Tim Curry), and the blend of the Dickens story with the levity that the Muppets bring is perfection. There are 2 main Muppets Christmas movies. The more famous one is Muppets Christmas Carol (1992). The Muppet Family Christmas is a little more obscure (my opinion) and is from 1987. I feel like more people are familiar with the Christmas Carol version, but the Family Christmas version is super cute and worth a watch. I wouldn't call it a movie that's watched as a tradition by a lot of people, by any means, but I'm a huge Muppets nerd, so I watch it every year. Hope that helps!❤ Edit: Jim Henson also directed Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas (1977), but that doesn't feature the traditional Muppet characters, but it is done in the traditional Muppet style (if that makes any sense hahah). A more traditional watch-it-every-year kind of Christmas movie would probably be the Charlie Brown Christmas Special from 1965 or the original Grinch cartoon from 1966.

Charlie Brown Christmas is the most popular classic Christmas special along with the old claymation Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer special from the 60’s. I would say the Muppets is like the third most popular Christmas special.

I grew up with The Muppets! It's like our Pippi. Every child of the 70s and 80s religiously watched The Muppet Show. And our parents too, because they would have humor only teenagers/adults would get. oh... and it wasn't a cartoon, it was a "variety show" and they would have famous special guests like Steve Martin and John Cleese.

I learn to speak my first words of English while watching The Muppet Show and because we had subtitles I started catching on some words and small phrases. My teenage daughter does cosplay and more artistic makeup looks for fun or for her tiktok, and has a huge makeup collection, but I rarely wear noticeable makeup. I am always worried about looking like I tried to look good, and then looking terrible. I’d rather just look like a mess and not have people think I’m trying to look pretty, if that makes sense. (And I know it doesn’t make sense for healthy people, lol. I need to get my sh!t together… Recently divorced and need to work on finding my confidence, again).

For the Super Shock Shadows: the golden brown character is Fozzy Bear, and he is like an old-time Vaudeville comedian. So, “waka waka” (don’t know if I spelled it right) is like his “filler” catchphrase while he’s waiting to get a laugh. The orangey-red one is Animal, and he’s a rock band drummer; he’s very wild and monosyllabic. Like some drummers, lol.

I think it's Fozzy 🐻, that says Wakka Wakka. It's been awhile since I've watched their version of A Christmas Carol but I think Americans love The Grinch cartoon and Rudolph, the stop animation version from years ago. That's my fav. I do love reading A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. I love almost every version of that especially Scrooged with Bill Murray.

The Muppets franchise has been owned by Disney for awhile, and I believe the Muppet Show (the original variety show) is streaming on Disney+. It was really good, not "dumbed down". Guests like Elton John, Rita Moreno. Mark Hamill AND Luke Skywalker. I'd suggest watching at least some of the episodes of the Muppet Show to get an understanding of the characters before watching the Muppet Christmas Carol, because the character-playing-a-character adds a whole level to it.

The Rankin Bass animation shows are a USA favorite at the Holidays with titles mostly revolving around Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer of which there is a show with the same name but many other titles. Just look for anything made by Rankin Bass and you have an American classic. The Charlie Brown special is also shown every year but I hate that one as Peanuts depress me, lol!

There’s actually a few Muppets Christmas movies! I didn’t grow up with The Muppets, but my kids did. This collection would not have been something I was interested in until I watched this. For the first time, I can see me using the pinks as this doesn’t look like you have been crying and rubbing your eyes. That’s what most pink/red eyeshadows look like on me. The green/blue eye look is beautiful, but come Spring, I can see some spectacular eyes! I like doing my face first. If I do eyes first, I have difficulty getting things to look right. Great job on both looks!

This palette made me immediately think of the BH Cosmetics Ms. Claus palette in a smaller form...and those eyeshadows that look like a pressed glitter look pretty similar to the ones in the BH palette that were down the middle row that have the same sparkle...I love the Muppets and am glad Colourpop did this collection.

STRONGLY recommend watching both The Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Family Christmas. They are classics that I watch every year. This collection seems to be a more generic Muppet Christmas collection, but there are a lot of references to Muppet Family Christmas. The Muppet Christmas Carol is on Disney Plus, and Muppet Family Christmas is here on KZbin! Just make sure you find the full version from 1987. They have a good quality one. I adore both of these. For other American Christmas TV specials, Charlie Brown Christmas is a must, as is Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Also love the original animated How the Grinch Stole Christmas. In my family, we also watched Frosty the Snowman, Garfield Christmas, Twas the Night Before Christmas, and Santa Claus is Coming to Town, which are more obscure. And, of course, Looney Christmas Tales and Mickey’s Christmas Carol. There are some great, more modern, specials too: Shrek The Halls, How To Train Your Dragon: Gift of the Night Fury, Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas, Merry Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda Holiday Special, and Madagascar Penguins:A Christmas Caper. And our favorite movies are Elf, Jingle All The Way, all three Santa Clause’s, and The Grinch. We would also watch two older classics, White Christmas and Holiday Inn. (Warning: Holiday Inn has a very outdated, extremely racist scene that I didn’t even know about until I was an adult because it was cut from broadcast and we watched a recorded from TV version. Pretty shocking when I bought the DVD. White Christmas is perfection) As for the makeup, (LOL) I was HEARTBROKEN that this palette wasn’t vegan. 💔 But you better believe those super shocks and glowing lips WILL be mine! ❤

They actually aired some of the Muppet TV show episodes occasionally in my country's TV and I'm actually still bit scared by them (something to do with talking doll animals etc.) However I looove how they executed this collection both packaging and the products, so I'm probably going order at least the palette and one of the lippies. 😮💞

@@susanharmeijer862 in Spain at least, no more customs, but that’s relatively new. Free intl shipping if your order is over 60€ I believe. Something like that. I wish the shipping was quicker than like 3 weeks though!

@@susanharmeijer862 Sane in Sweden. I've ordered from CP a few times but dang, by the time I have it in my arms I've paid 2-3 times the price. Customs and taxes drive it up too much so I don't feel like buying from them anymore unfortunately, as it's simply not affordable in the end. Plus shipping is fairly slow too.

I only ordered the lippies because I knew I didn't need another palette, but have been struggling to find lip colors I think are flattering on me. I'm hoping at least one of these will do the trick. Also, you should watch the Muppet Christmas Carol. It's cute!

I am the definition of a beige Becky and I watch your channel to break out of my rut. You inspire me to use color and, because I have learned from you, my colors don’t get muddy anymore. I am still more conservative than you but I really love watching you do your make up. The Muppet Christmas thing is not a thing as far as I know. I’m a huge Muppet fan but it isn’t really a Christmas tradition. The Muppet Movie is HUGE and the songs are very well known, but this is about a road trip to Hollywood, CA and not Christmas. They did a version of A Christmas Carol that is kind of cute, but the classic versions or even comedic versions like Scrooged are more widely watched I think. I have never heard of anything more about the Muppets and Christmas, to be honest. The Rudolf/Frosty the Snowman is a thing. The Charlie Brown Christmas is a thing. Die Hard 1 is a thing. Christmas Vacation (with Chevy Chase) is a thing. The Grinch. It’s a Wonderful Life, Nightmare Before Christmas are all things. *Waca Waca is Fozzie the Bear’s catch phrase. Fozzie was on the Muppet Show and he always did kind of a vaudeville style cheesy comedy act. Animal was a drummer with the band called Electric Mayhem.

Muppet Christmas Carol is actually pretty big traditionally. A lot of people love it. The Muppet Family Christmas TV special is more obscure and from the 80s, but it was a part of my family’s tradition, and I’m sure for others too, even if not super widely. If you like the Muppets, I highly recommend it. It’s Muppet perfection, featuring, Muppets, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, and even Muppet Babies all in one place with a Jim Hanson cameo.
