Sure it's a dick move, but if you think about it, He wants to take the higher levels to hopefully end the boss quicker and he doesn't have to worry about the lower levels slowing them down. Being a leader you have always think 50/50. The good or the bad no matter what.

After watching Solo Leveling, I was so hooked that I ended up reading the entire manhwa. It's incredible how powerful Jin-Woo became, rising to the level of a Monarch and, in the end, taking control of the system itself. I like Igris a lot, but the ant from Jeju Island is on another level-much stronger than Igris and even able to speak. The previous Monarch's army was already impressive, but Jin-Woo's growth exceeded all expectations. It seems like the author wanted to make him unbeatable, almost like Saitama, but he wasn't exactly able to convey that feeling of invincibility. Honestly, the moment Jin-Woo shows up, you already know he's going to win. This takes away some of the tension. Anime might be good for those who are too lazy to read, but manhwa is where the real experience is.
