Historically, winter was the time to slow down on the farm. Please don’t feel guilty for taking a break, you’ve earned it! We will eagerly await the next video, but we WILL wait for it whenever you need a break.

With some channels I expect to see new videos frequently but in your case I much prefer to walk along with you at your pace. You are certainly not a just another content creating machine. Yes it’s business but it’s also personal. So far it’s been a privilege to experience what you have to share and I would rather have fewer videos and you have peace of mind. It is biblical to have seasons of life as well as seasons of nature. It is honorable to handle them both well, I think we all typically learn something from you in everything you do. Much respect Pete and Hilary! May the Lord bless you and your family.

You both look happy as usual and everyone should be able to take a break and no need to apologize to any of your viewers ;-) You are doing everyone of us a great service and education in sharing you life, way of life and your cheeky jokes LOL Your cooking is always nice to see and how simple things are supposed to be in life. I tell my sons you can do anything in life if you are ready to learn about it, i taught them the basic of cooking themselves, and i don't mean how to put a frozen pizza in the oven either 🤣😂🤣😂 My grandmother and father have both taught me and i shared those way to my sons. For me, people who only relies on store bought frozen foods are the future patients of doctors, hospitals and big pharma. Grow your own food, buy your meat from a local butcher or farm, get your own chickens, pigs, if you can and you won't be slaves to grocery stores and their cheap foods and be actually free from corporations ;-)

Love the intro and exit videos. You feel the forty years farming and it's a time of rest. But spring is just around the corner and that new shop needs some ground prep work. Cows know how to have a good time as that little mouse in the house scampering on the barn's back wall shown in the video, and looking for a clock to climb.

You have been in my thoughts. It is crazy how we become so attached to the folks in streams. Id rather become attached to you or someone else here rather than a TV show or movie, it's real, it's personal. I am beginning to understand how you both feel, where you are in life. My parents are in that stage of their lives. Looking to retire and take it easy. I got to hear my dad talk about the difficulty of adjusting to the changes. Honestly pete, I think if I just got to watch you move the cattle, I'd never stop watching your channel. No matter how big or small the job is, you have a special way of bringing it to your audience that a person just doesn't get from anywhere else. This time of year is slow for a lot of people, at least the ones that get to enjoy winter that is. You work hard and you need the down time like you need sleep at night. We have to rejuvenate in order to keep going. Thank you for continuing the channel, laid back or not.

Pete, haven't freaked, but good to hear from you! I totally understand dialing it back this time of year. It's the only built in break a farmer gets if they are wise enough to take advantage of it. You have a far-reaching impact that just comes with being a successful youtuber. It can be a blessing and a curse. Just last evening Evan and Rebekah were even asked about you on their live stream. I admire and appreciate people like you who are willing to put themselves out there for the "experts" to critique. That alone can wear on you if you let it. Not to mention the huge amount of time to film, edit, etc. Recharge your batteries my friend! Spring calendar looks very full!!! Murfreesboro, TN

My Grandpa, Elmer, bedded his barn like that. Keep the old and just add a new layer. As the old decomposes it creates heat that the livestock appreciates. In the spring it all goes in the garden... nicely decomposed.

These are still early days (just since August). I am really looking forward to having more production time after retirement. Imagine, running out of inventory! You know how you love to putter with tractors and engines? Well, that is me at my sewing machine. It is so rewarding. it has been a real joy to create things that people want to purchase. Ti's the season for rest. I never rested before moving to Montana. Now I am so thankful for the season. Working the farm from March through the final harvest/processing day in November is enough of the outside work and then 2 months canning and freezing everything that decides its time to sprout.I wouldn't trade it for anything. You and Hillary always seem to be real busy each and every day, so take the opportunity for some well-deserved personal time to do whatever you want to do (or nothing at all). With that camera in your hand, then the editing needed to the final product that we see and enjoy. And you need to explain you need a RECHARGE ? You need a MEDAL ! lol. I hope people don't take all you do to supply us with your tractor knowledge, engineering and farming skills along with them jokes just casually. I grew up on a dairy farm in S.E.
