The GS:TAM was the first version of this shoe the other GS variants such as the PDX are different colours. The insole and high midsole create a dual density PEBAX. The lower drop SPEEDLAND shoes have heavier duty outsoles. These shoes are no more expensive than any other carbon plated shoe on the market , you can keep the carbon plates and put them in your next pair, people have tracing shoes and race day shoes, these shoes were primarily made and designed for pro competition.

I just bought a pair a over the summer and love everything but the price, but they are released a new style that I've already got my eye on. LOL

These are limited release, there are very small quantities made plus the materials are the top-end of the market. They only do one run of this kind. Yes, there have been 4 releases including this one, but they all have been different colors and have small improvements over time which has been really awesome. This PDX version is the best by far. Cam Haines model was good, but I still like this version better due to material and design changes. Speedland is a unique company, and they really only do commissions with their athletes or other people like Cam Haines for example. They are doing things differently and so price will always be a premium most likely.

The web site says order a 1/2 size up FROM THE OLD SPEEDLAND GS MODELS. Not from your other shoes.

Like you are seeing, I have heard other reports of excessive outsole wear on this shoes. Some are reporting the shoe is costing them near a buck per mile ... in other words, only getting 300 or so miles on the shoe due to that issue. If they offered resole I might consider them, but it's a big no for me at that wear rate.
@ADyess0863 ай бұрын
I’ve heard you can resole
@johnborton45223 ай бұрын
@@ADyess086 If that's true (and I haven't heard that), they should publicize that fact. It's not in their FAQs when discussing show wear.

Dyneema fabric. Comes from sailing industry. Supposed to be stronger than steel but lightweight. Norda uses the same material in their uppers
@johnborton45223 ай бұрын
@@ADyess086 Exactly why they need to facilitate resoles. Doesn't matter how long the upper lasts if you only get 350 miles out of the outsole.

Whats your top 2-3 trail shoes for race and training? Altra and zegama?

@@stevenrobert6992 both shoes are pretty solid in terms of ankle stability. The altras may be slightly better.

Can you drop a custom insole in them?
@JustAnotherRunner3 ай бұрын
That's a great question. My initial thought is - no. The insole makes up a lot of the midsole material. BUT I don't see why it wouldn't work other than you losing some cushion and it might make the shoe feel big.
