Another little longevity helping trick. When the job is finished, cycle the machine until the gripper arms (pulls the inserts in to the insert pusher track) as straight up as possible on the insert stroke. This takes the load off of the majority of the springs in the system.
@justaprinter3 жыл бұрын
I have heard this and often forget to do it. I need to remember that. Thanks!!
@jamesfgray13 жыл бұрын
I couldn't tell in the video so well but I'm sure I heard the click of the pusher fingers hitting the aluminum insert plate. When those fingers drop off the bridge at the back of the insert station, they should land on short black flap springs before the forward stroke to push the inserts into the envelope. Those older pusher fingers are made of metal and will quickly indent that insert plate if they do not. Also, a good practice is to pick up some thin rubber or polyurethane washer to place between the flat springs and the insert plate. This will make that plate last forever. Relatively speaking.

I'll have to look into that. Thanks so much!

Great video. Love the insights and always learning something. Today was the correct positioning on tinsel. We typically split the variable documents after merging into sets of press sheets that’ll fit in guillotine e.g 500 SRA3 sheets gives us 1000 A4 letters so a 5000 mailings gets 5 PDFs to print but means that 1-1000 are cut together and can go on top of one another before the next step. Same as postcards 200 SRA3 sheets is 1200 postcards 6up. Might remove the extra thinking that’s needed when cutting them right now. Great video mate 👍

"I feel dirty, running only one machine" ha.. I love it!... hey, when your stacking two up in your paddy wagon, leave about a 2 inch gap between the stack and treat em separately so you dont pool at the seam.. felt like i had to say some random bs to make myself seem important.. otherwise you blow the doors off productivity for one guy. you'll need to bring someone in to train even only part time so when you get covid your shop can still produce something.
@justaprinter4 жыл бұрын
Good point on the two stack of tablets. I'm not too concerned of Covid at this point. It's just not in my nature to take sick time off work. (never have) I'll just quarantine in my press room. :)

Can you do a video explaining how to do bulk mailing? I am interested in learning the process, how is postage purchased? Paid for? And I noticed in one video you drop the letters off and the post office apply postage? Why not get a pitney bowes machine in house?
@justaprinter4 жыл бұрын
Great suggestion, I'll work on that! I print the postage on with my mailing permit number and then take to post office. I do have a pitney bowes machines for small mailing of less than 200 pieces.
@TheHwnleatherguy4 жыл бұрын
bulk mails makes life easier. NP POSTAGE AFFUIXING!!! you pay dependant on the number of pieces, the weight, the size,,, call your local post office/bulk mailing opggice. applicable on business mailings AND registered non-profits. you must have the appropriate permit number. bulk mailing is a science all its own but can save alot of money in postage. the post office offers classes... theres sdoftware for certifying the mailing and properly sorting the addresses. it does take time but once you start doing it, you save loads on postage... or you pay a mailing service
