In literature for example, young adult books are typically targeting 12-18, which is about how i've always thought of it. But other people define it as far as 18-40. I took figure drawing classes as a teenager. They weren’t full nude, but the images of models we were drawing were wearing basically like a sports bra & bikini or a speedo. I have zero sympathy for a 17 year old claiming to be traumatized by drawing somebody in a bra. I’m sorry, we can say JAR is weird for asking for the image but it is absolutely absurd to that anybody is treating this person’s claim they were traumatized by this seriously. I honestly irritates me how kids grabbed onto therapy speak and use it for their drama and to be seen as victims of horrible crimes when it's so blown out of proportion. If I had a 17 year old act like they were traumatized and got ptsd simply from an image of a woman in a bra, I'd smack them lol. You can say it’s an avatar used to represent a real person, but pretending there’s no daylight between a heavily stylized cartoon and the real person using it to represent themselves is pretty ridiculous zoomer garbage. You are people, not your fursona or V-Tube avatar or whatever. Somebody punching somebody else’s character is not actually an act of violence on a real person. You can say it’s inappropriate, and that’s fine. I do agree though that JAR’s behavior was weird and he’s an inappropriate creep. To be fair, it also doesn’t sound like the woman in question is sticking to the more extreme language originally used to describe the situation. 17 is not an adult... It's pretty clearly defined in modern society... You can debate that it ought to be different, but as it stands, 17 isn't an adult it's a child... So I'm not going to get nitpicky with someone going by what is basically the dictionary definition... If you wanna say 17 isn't a 'child' in the same way ten would be then sure, but it is still a child... As an adult, you go to jail if you do certain adult things to a person when they're 17 unless you're close in age and happen to have the law protecting you...
