This was the most helpful walk-through I've seen so far and I'm glad you mentioned needing 2 months reservation for Duke's Restaurant and the chairs & umbrellas area for rent on the beach as well as the catamarans. Those are the things I was most interested in. Thanks.

@nhlbluesgirl7045 Nice location. Food was limited to overpriced bar style food. Breakfast did not have many options. We ventured outside for better food choices. We did not swim in the small pool. One advantage is the access to the mall and beach across the street. The hotel was just average for the price we paid to stay there. We eventually moved to Royal Hawaiian for a couple of nights there to access the beach and view. Hawaii is our favorite vacation destination. Do not want to live there, only vacation. Traffic is horrendous. It seems like Hawaii has its own ecosystem. The sun could be shining while it's raining cats and dogs. Then, all of a sudden, it just stops raining. We should have vlogged this trip.

The Outrigger Waikiki is my "go to" choice when visiting Oahu. I've stayed there many times over the last 30 years, and it is always a wonderful, first-class experience. You might mention that Duke's offers the BEST breakfast buffet in Waikiki! The buffet is excellent, and very reasonable price wise. (Not sure of the status of the buffet now in COVID times.) Excellent video. Mahal & Aloha!

I was at the Outrigger in August 1990....I see lots of changes, but also very familiar. Went to Duke's, and it is a favorite. Had a Penthouse Suite, and would love to see their rooms as they are now. Thank you for posting. It brought back very good memories of Hawaii.

In 2009 I stayed at the outrigger Waikiki Hotel for three wonderful weeks breakfast was fantastic overlooking Honolulu Bay on one occasion I had an evening meal at Dukes restaurant the food was fantastic and again unbelievable views of the Bay , and across the road at about the 15th floor there is the revolving restaurant which I thoroughly enjoyed I would certainly stay at the outrigger hotel again.

Hi, Christina! Hope you made it safely! I have not seen the gym maybe it is on higher floors. There are lots of ABC stores all over Waikiki and they sell some pantry options like pasta, bread, etc. Dukes Marketplace has a small grocery store. Food pantry is about 15 min walk. If you are looking for a big supermarket, Don Quijote is about 30 min walk

We stayed for a week in May in my opinion Dukes is overrated I prefer Hula for drinks and food plus the lines are way shorter. Dukes does have some great musicians we loved listening from our room.
