I've heard many JBL speakers as well as Bose speakers. And I have personally been a JBL loyal person, but recently I got a chance to listen to the Bose Soundflex, and damn! it's really good, I might actually prefer Bose over JBL now.

Update for anyone who cares - I bought bose flex 2 and its very simple situation - its worth every penny. Sound and bass quality cant be described by words, you need to hear it. Its also very loud. I paid around 195 usd and I'm not sorry one bit. Music is very powerful tool and everybody shoud have one high quality speaker. If you can get it for like 130 usd, its not even debatable, its a steal.

I still love my JBL Charge 5 because I got it for less than US$80 with some crazy discount code when it was on sale. Bose SoundLink Flex 2 is originally retailed here in my country for US$350 which is just ridiculous for Bose. Way more expensive than the retail price of Charge 5. Bose is not on sale so I can't seem to find it for less than US$200.Always above US$300.

@@tep5388You know nothing about sound. Charge hit way deeper than flex, but in term’s of quality bose it’s much more refined . Flex sounds in some situations fuller because play’s upper bass more

Based on sound test at the end, I am seeing the JBL is a clear winner in both clarity and bass. The Bose is good for mid and that's about it. I am seeing the JBL Charge 5 is in different league compared to the Bose Flex. I owned the Bose Soundlink Mini 2 which sound very similar to the Flex. The Bose soundlink 2 is nowhere as good the charge 5. The Bose's in all comparison appear to look and feel very elegant and that attract more to many people, but not those who care about the sound quality.

I got my Charge 5 for just US$74 & my little Flip 6 for US$54. You can't argue with JBL for that kind of price tho. Bose SoundLink Flex & SoundLink Mini/Mini 2 cost US$350 individually including shipping costs😂. That's why I'm waiting for a refurbished one.

I am used to Pioneer speakers. I wish they would make a small speaker setup similar to these. I know many people like JBL, but every time I hear JBL it is low quality. Pioneer, JVC, Aiwa, Sony, etc. all sound better from what I have seen in person. I suspect that some reviewers online purposely change settings to try to make other brands sound worse than JBL because every time I hear their products in person I am disappointed. Based on this video's sound, I wouldn't want either speaker. Bose sounds muddy and JBL doesn't have much base.

The Bose sounds much better on its back. There is built in EQ change based on its position. There are three in total. Upright (as demoed), on its back, and vertical (like when hanging from a carabiner). In its back there is a treble boost and it sounds much less muddy. But unlike the JBL, the treble doesn’t ever get harsh. But I agree the Flex can sound muddy when it is playing upright. And now there is a Flex 2 which has EQ support, so you can up the treble and/or reduce the mids. I believe the muddiness occurs when the mids are too high in relation to the treble.

@@mikibalkani4766 i loved my Soundlink Flex. I own the Soundlink Max now. Its fantastic. Im just more of a Bose guy. I think Bose has more realistic sound quality over JBL. Personal opinion. The Charge 5 has been out since 2021, it needs an updated model by now.

Flex has fuller bass spectrum without deep bass which sounds better outdoor while Charge 5 has deeper rich bass which sounds best indoor. It all comes down to taste.

The bose is missing the highs. Its just MIDS!!! Tons of people say that bose sounds like ass, in audiohile world its called a "high cut.😂 and for the price you get a big ass downgrade. The main reason is bose only has a single FR driver and not 2 way like the C5 and F6.

The highs are too sharp and gives treble fatigue and the bass is nice but sounds like it’s pushed to its limits too much, giving hard clipping sometimes which are well controlled by the esp but it’s annoying cuz it’s super obvious if you pay attention

I agree. That has been Bose’s MO and the reason I never liked Bose. But the Flex has position IQ, which adjusts the EQ based on its position. On its back it no longer sounds muddy. I believe there is a treble boost and/or a mid reduction. I only play my Flex it’s back, except in the shower. Plus on its back gives you a dome of sound, so way more practical. And now Bose has released a Flex 2 which is now EQ adjustable. Once you hear that treble boost, it becomes a much cleaner sound. It never becomes harsh, but also no longer recessed. There is less treble roll off. You can hear the hi-hat and snare much clearer and cymbals have a psssssst instead of a psst. On its back the Flex actually sounds really really good. I’ve compared it to other BT speakers at this size and price point and I really don’t think there is one better. Maybe the B&O A1, but that cost more and I’ve heard some quality control issues with that speaker and also the battery doesn’t last long.
