Anybody else immediately think Hurricane Gardner was a reference to Guy Gardner from the comics? I don't know too much about the character but based on what I've gleaned, he doesn't seem to be too well liked for the most part so perhaps it was an joke at his expense, basically saying that the guy was a disaster of a character.

Wait so Tim Drake joins the Bat Family in 1999 when he is ~10 years old, but gets brainwashed by the joker in 2007, about 8 years later, meaning he should be about 18 years old. But in the flashback Tim is still a young kid. So what gives, he's just a late bloomer?

Something that we may never have an answer to, unfortunately. In 1999 he is 13 (per his official bio), so in 2005-2007 for the RotJ flashback, he would be 19-21.

Hey, this is a really great and well thought out video, but there is one detail that I think you've missed. I recently rewatched the episode The Savage Time, and there's a line when they first meet alternate universe Batman where John tells him they've known each other "for years". This implies that at least two years have passed since Secret Origins, which...doesn't make any sense at all based on everything else, but is still technically canon.
@dcauwatchtower6 жыл бұрын
This has been brought up many times before (no worries). There’s a semi-easy explanation. “The Savage Time” takes place in late 2001, per our evidence in this video. - Superman: has known Batman since 1999 in “World’s Finest.” - The Flash: has known Batman since his “Gotham Adventures” appearance that likely takes place in 1999. - Green Lantern: has been a GL of his sector for 15 years prior to “Justice League,” according to Dwayne McDuffie. It’s not crazy to think Batman and him met at some point during this time. Even if it was after Kyle Rayner becomes a GL, that was still in 1999. - Hawkgirl: has apparently met Batman at some point prior to JL per Batman’s “Hawkgirl? What’s she doing here?” line. She was on Earth as early as 1997. Wonder Woman and J’onn are the only ones that don’t work, having come to Earth/Man’s World the previous year. But we just have to accept that GL’s statement doesn’t apply to them, and he knew that, or knew he was exaggerating a bit.

Thanks! Yes, it sure does happen quickly. As for post-JLU, we did an episode of our podcast “12th Level Intellects” a bit ago where we discuss everything we know for sure happened between JLU and Batman Beyond. I've watched several of your DCAU videos and I got to say I love that some one loves the DCAU this much, I do want to point out that I do not believe that Batman & Harley Quinn was not intended to be part of the DCAU but was instead, like Superman: Brainiac Attacks before it, was inspired by the animation style and brought back some of the voice actors. However I may be wrong.
@dcauwatchtower6 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! Making these videos is hard work but it’s always great to see the reactions. As for B&HQ, it was billed as “part of the BTAS universe” and Bruce Timm himself said he considers it part of the DCAU, not to mention its lack of any major continuity issues that would boot it out (which is more than Brainiac Attacks can say, and that one was also mentioned by the producers to not be in the same universe as STAS). We’re doing a video on Brainiac Attacks soon, stay tuned!

Dating "Paradise Lost" using hurricane season is a really good idea. I hadn't thought of that. A couple of other dating factors I'm using in my DCAU Timeline (tinyurl.com/sllmutn): 1) "In Blackest Night" takes place sometime during basketball season (late October to early April), as a game can be seen on a bar television when John Stewart returns to his old neighborhood. It's also not very long after the League formed, as Flash, Hawkgirl, and J'onn are still getting to know each other, GL is re-acclimating himself to Earth after years away, and the Flash hasn't learned how to fly the Javelin yet. Considering the later date for "Paradise Lost" dictated by hurricane season, a date earlier in the year is preferable, IMO. 2) Aquaman addresses the General Assembly of the United Nations (or the "World Assembly") in the first part of "The Enemy Below." The UN's regular session normally meets from a Tuesday in the third week of September to December each year (www.un.org/en/ga/sessions/). It COULD be a special or an emergency session that Aquaman barges in on, but I think the implication is that he's barging into a regular session. Since Aquaman passes both several beach-goers and people in jackets on his way to the UN (kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZnKaKurg9eij7M), I'd go with the September date. 3) Lex Luthor is apparently tried, convicted, and sentenced in between scenes in the first part of "Injustice For All." This, IMO, could account for much of the eight month gap in between "Secret Origins" and "Paradise Lost." And considering that four other adventures happen in between "Paradise Lost" and "A Knight of Shadows" ("War World", "The Brave and the Bold", "Fury", and "Legends"), I think it's very possible that the first season of JUSTICE LEAGUE may cover MORE than a year's worth of time, especially when you consider that the Leaguers are presumably having other offscreen and solo adventures during this time. This also jibes with Green Lantern telling the alternate Batman "You've known us for years" in the first season finale "The Savage Time."

Wow, I didn't even think my original post went through. @@dcauwatchtower Heh, and now I see where you guys admit the timeline makes no sense: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6vNhpSLhrR_ZrM BTW, I'm not trying to give y'all a hard time about this. It's just ... frustrating to make sense of the DCAU's timeline. For example, Supergirl: Supergirl is 16 when she faces Granny and the Female Furies in Little Girl Lost and turns 21 when she leaves the modern age to be with the Legion of Super-Heroes in Far From Home. So, that should indicate that her time as a hero in the modern age would be around five years, right? Wrong. Here's why: As mentioned, Kara is 16 during the spring when she debuts as Supergirl, and the events of Unity happen in at least the next spring, when she'd be 17. Assuming the events of Legacy happen maybe months after that, that would seem to indicate maybe a year and 1/2 passes in DCAU time at that point and would make Supergirl 17-18 years old. Stable so far, right? It's when Justice League and JLU come into the picture that things get screwy. According to Secret Origins, around two years have passed since the events of Legacy. We can then go ahead and be generous in saying that 1-2 years pass once the events of Starcrossed unfold. According to a comment from J'ohn in Task Force X, another two years have passed between Starcrossed and _that_ episode. So, all-in-all, if we take all these statements as gospel, Supergirl would actually be around 23-24 by the time the JLU's second season wrapped (which means seven or eight years have passed in the DCAU since her debut) and God knows how much older by Far From Home. See what I mean? The moral of the story: if someone is going to write a story for the DCAU and make any sense of its timeline, they're very likely going to have to break canon at some point. [/rant]
@dcauwatchtower4 жыл бұрын
2 years have passed since Legacy? That’s not said. Just a 2-year time jump from...2 years before Secret Origins. Doesn’t mean the opening of the episode didn’t occur during STAS time. 🧐

@@dcauwatchtower Heh, yep, you're right about that, my bad. I hadn't seen the ep in awhile, and I was basing my info in part on the DCAU Wiki's synopsis of the story. I'm not sure if you've since addressed it, but it's definitely not canon, since Kara is shown to be immune to Kryptonite in the story, but it clearly weakens her in JLU.
@dcauwatchtower4 жыл бұрын
Yeah. The writers of that comic also wrote “Little Girl Lost,” so it’s our stance that anything that DOESN’T contradict canon from that comic can still be considered what happened in the DCAU, aka the first half or so of the issue. Her Argo backstory, her age, the events leading up to the present day of LGL, etc.

While I don't like skits I don't mind too much as long as they're short.

Because what proves hes 13 except sinzu idk to be honest its my solution to make him a bit younger when Return of the Joke flashbacks in the comics Tim and Dick Became Robin at 12 and in Robins reckoning Tim says that might have worked when I was in 6 grade which could hint Dick was Robin at 12 But Bruce didn't let him go on the more dangerous missions probably to train more since he trained for 5-6 years but that doesn't mean he wasn't Robin

Maybe when Barbara asks Dick when Became officially Robin maybe he says 5-6 training because he was finally allowed to be Robin by himself without Bruce by his side and that when he was Robin at 12 he could only be Robin with Bruce by his side and only when he said

So I think Tim is 12 because 12 just makes sense it's a nice bridge I between kid and Teen for the "boy" wonder

Also big fan I love your guys videos and If I was you I would say say he was 12 just to make him one Year younger for you timeline Tim would be 10-11 during lost years and at 12 becomes Robin after 6 months training some training we see in sins of the Father then is 13 in 2000 and a teen during Justice League
